Tom
Sorry to hear about your experience but I have to say that I have found
Australia Post to be an exceptionally efficient and professional organisation.
I guess there is always going to be the odd hiccup but in the last 10 years I
have sent out approx 20,000 packages with Australia Post to all corners of the
earth and I can honestly count on one hand the number of packages that have
been (supposedly) lost in the last ten years.

I have a contract with Australia Post and they pick up my packages from my home
each day and process them all very efficiently. Most of the packages I send go
to the US and end up being processed through USPS. I know that many like to
criticise USPS but they also get the job done with few problems from my
perspective.

I know that it is very frustrating when things go wrong but your experience
would certainly be the exception to the usually great service that is offered
by Australia Post.

Regards
John

warning this aint funny its fricken facts. lets get serious here.

so if anyone gives a hoot.. I have had problems with autrailis... ( damn
penile colony Pirates)

so I send this woman a Megaphne she doesnt get it,, then the austrialian post
says hey!! we have no clue where it is...

I think they have Kangaroos and crocs that steal megaphones so they can go to
outback and yell for hunters to hijack them and beat them up...??

anyways... so I was emailing ROSE from the Aussie Post then I geta DEAR
TIM. TIM??... and I realize.. Rose was actually ROSS a man.. so I hit it
off great with ROss...
so then the other day my customer emall Ross and I... here it is.. she
found the package.. meanwhile I sen another to her due to Holidays,
Dear Tom and Ross

It turns out that the package was delivered to 29 Orchard Rd Beecroft 2119.
It was signed for by an elderly lady at that residence who could not read the
address on the package. Her son kindly delivered the package to me yesterday.

Tom, I am sorry for all the inconvenience and that you have provided a
replacement megaphone free of charge.

Ross, I am disappointed with the Australia Post delivery system - obviously
the delivery person could not read the address clearly labelled on the
packaged. As a consequence, I have had to spend a considerable amount in extra
postage for the delivery of the same item again as we considered it lost in the
mail system. It has also cost Tom money as he kindly offered to send a
replacement item. The item was required by a specific time and we could not
wait the for the outcome of a lengthy inquiry. If the people who accepted
delivery had not kindly delivered it to the correct address, it would have been
lost forever due to error on the part of Australia Post. While Beecroft is a
neighbouring suburb to Epping in NSW, I really don't understand how the two
addresses could get confused - and obviously the person who delivered the
package did not check the name of the addressee with the name of the person who
signed for it.

Is there any way we can claim some compensation for this stuff up?

Regards

Ross. anaswer ?? No compensation/// so she spent 31.00 then 37.00 as we sent
the 2nd by express mail..

and the item was 24.00 .. then I shipped another 24.00 o charge...

So today ANOTHER aussie emails and says where My clapboard I shipped Dec
4 it didnt leave USA till 15
from New Jersey... and that allows 10 days to get there till
Christmas.. well I said I have no idea wahat to do as it appears aussie Post is
overwhelmed..

Then I get a call from Detroit.. this woman With Ford says that WALMart had
all the couriers bbought in advance and reserved all the mail systems. and
Ups and others
I have no clue if that true But wouldnt surprise me .. so they put
all the other packages at the rear

Odd but I figure Ford would have a better inside then me.

  whata wonderful Life

meanwhile My Home loan people have not sent me any paperwork on a
modification...

Modify is right... they want to wait until Christmas eve to give me the Full
effect of shock value,

and inform me I can not afford my House... Lovely...

so.. with that I say..The global warming is happening because
everyones getting pissed OFF
  includeing me

[MOPO] Looking for an image of Miracle Woman (1930) Window Card

2009-12-16 Thread Garth Grieder
Hello everyone at MOPO,

I have a window card for Miracle Woman (1930) starring Barbara Stanwyck.
This window card has been trimmed (obviously as backing for a frame) on the
right side 2-3 inches and the top few inches.

I want to have the card backed and have the missing sections of the card
filled in, however, this card is somewhat rare and I cannot seem to find an
image of this particular window card anywhere.

Do any of you, by any chance, have an image of this window card, or even an
image of the 'posters' page from the press book? This image is much needed
to fill in the missing titles and border artwork! The card has a very nice
early close-up of Barbara Stanwyck!

I also have a 1/3 piece of the window card from Hitchcock's 'Blackmail' 1929
(also cut for a frame), however, I do not feel that it will be possible for
me to get an image of the complete card. Are there any complete WC's from
this title in existance?

Anyways, if anyone here has an image of either card, that would be great!

Much appreciated,

Garth

Re: [MOPO] mopo _ austrailia part two the package....

2009-12-16 Thread Tom Martin
Thanks John- I have shipped mail order 30 years now... I have no idea
how many boxes...

But I have never had one lost..
This month I sent like 5-10 to Austrailia.. and one was mis-delivered
and the other is in the system..

I use international Priority mail or express.

They are labeled correct and I use the USPS priorty boxes and pack very
well.

So perhaps these two in question are flukes,, However the mail service
people were also of little help
as they offered the customer no commpensation even though they never
formerly delivered it.. The person they incorrectly deliverd was kind
enough to deliver it,
I think they should have given her a refund for one shipped fees as she
paid twice.

Perhaps its also Part the USPS as A customer in England emailed me that
the Package was last scanend in

New jersey.. so maybe thats also part of the slow clogged problem.
new jersey must be the international east coast Hub.

Its just frustrating as people want thier Gifts and I have no way to
speed up the USPS or even know what

is the issue or when it will get there...
So maybe it was justa Fluke on the two that are in Question... why do
you think this happened.
My customer also said she was treated rudely and received bad service
and she is with Disney- Seven network so one would think she gets
numerous packages from the states?

I appreciate your input John But I would be more impressed if they
helped My customers have a great Christmas and deliver the packages to
right address.

But thanks for your opinion . Merry Christmas!!
Kindest regards, Tom

Subject: [MOPO] Looking for an image of Miracle Woman (1930) Window Card

Hello everyone at MOPO,

I have a window card for Miracle Woman (1930) starring
Barbara Stanwyck. This window card has been trimmed (obviously as backing for a
frame) on the right side 2-3 inches and the top few inches.

I want to have the card backed and have the missing sections of the card
filled in,
however, this card is somewhat rare and I cannot seem to find an image of this
particular window card anywhere.

Do any of you, by any chance, have an image of this window
card, or even an image of the 'posters' page from the press book? This image is
much needed to fill in the missing titles and border artwork! The card has a
very nice early close-up
of Barbara Stanwyck!

I also have a 1/3 piece of the window card from Hitchcock's 'Blackmail' 1929
(also cut for a frame), however, I do not feel that it will be possible for me
to get an image of the complete card. Are there any complete WC's from this
title in existance?

Anyways, if anyone here has an image of either card, that
would be great!

Much appreciated,

Garth

Sorry to hear about your experience but I have to say that I have found
Australia Post to be an exceptionally efficient and professional organisation.
I guess there is always going to be the odd hiccup but in the last 10 years I
have sent out approx 20,000 packages with Australia Post to all corners of
the earth and I can honestly count on one hand the number of packages that have
been (supposedly) lost in the last ten years.

I have a contract with Australia Post and they pick up my packages from my home
each day and process them all very efficiently. Most of the packages I send go
to the US and end up being processed through USPS. I know that many like to
criticise USPS but they also get the job done with few problems from my
perspective.

I know that it is very frustrating when things go wrong but your experience
would certainly be the exception to the usually great service that is offered
by Australia Post.

warning this aint funny its fricken facts. lets  get serious here.

so if anyone gives a hoot..

Rose was actually ROSS a man.. so I hit it
off great with ROss
so then the other day my customer  emall Ross and I... here it is.. she
found the package.. meanwhile I sen another to her due to Holidays,
Dear Tom and Ross

It turns out that the package was delivered to 29 Orchard Rd Beecroft 2119.
It was signed for by an elderly lady at that residence who could not read the
address on the package.  Her son kindly delivered the package to me yesterday.

Tom, I am sorry for all the inconvenience and that you have provided a
replacement megaphone free of charge.

Ross, I am disappointed with the Australia Post delivery system - obviously
the delivery person could not read the address clearly labelled on the
packaged.  As a consequence, I have had to spend a considerable amount in
extra postage for the delivery of the same item again as we considered it
lost in the mail system.  It has also cost Tom money as he kindly offered to
send a replacement item.  The item was required by a specific time and we
could not wait the for the outcome of a lengthy inquiry.  If the people who
accepted delivery had not kindly delivered it to the correct address, it
would have been lost forever due to error on the part of Australia Post.
While Beecroft is a neighbouring suburb to Epping in NSW, I really don't
understand how the two addresses could get confused - and obviously the
person who delivered the package did not check the name of the addressee with
the name of the person who signed for it.

Is there any way we can claim some compensation for this stuff up?

Regards
Ross. anaswer ?? No compensation/// so she spent 31.00 then 37.00 as we sent
the 2nd by express mail..

and the item was 24.00  .. then I shipped another  24.00 o charge...

So today ANOTHER aussie emails and says where My clapboard  I shipped Dec 4
it didnt leave USA till 15
from New Jersey... and that allows 10 days to get there till
Christmas.. well I said I have no idea wahat to do as it appears aussie Post
is overwhelmed..

Then I get a call from Detroit.. this woman With Ford says that WALMart  had
all the couriers bbought in advance and reserved all the mail systems. and
Ups and others
I have no clue if that true But wouldnt surprise me ... so they put
all the other packages at the rear

Odd but I figure Ford would have a better inside then me.

whata wonderful Life

meanwhile My Home loan people have not sent me any paperwork  on a
modification...

Modify is right... they want to wait until Christmas eve to give me the Full
effect of shock value,

and inform me I can not afford my House...   Lovely...

so.. with that I say..The global warming is happening because
everyones getting pissed OFF
includeing me

[MOPO] MOPO - Roy E. Disney - quality person and visionary

2009-12-16 Thread Tom Martin
Mopo Roy E. Disney was one of few business people I saw eye to
eye with on how to run a company..

I have done about 8 projects for Walt Disney's various companys.. Like
the Disney catalog, the Disney MGM themeparks, Disneyland, The Disney
Stores
and even some internal groups like the accounting dept.. They are a
great group to work for as

the pay on time. And treated me well.. I even sold Movie posters to that
little shop at MGM Disney studios..

here'S My Roy story. see I was asked by Disney buyer to do a
Clapperclock for Disney for Walts I think 75th anniversary..

And it was a very hard decison because the Buyer asked me to meet taiwan
pricing .. I said.. I will not cut

my quality as this is Walt Disney and to me he represents quality,
creativity and a Great amerivan Brand

that represents to people a Legacy of Good will ! I wanted to do a
Over the top piece without cutting corners.

well It was a $7,000.00 Order which at time I needed the money.. Funny
I need about that now too..:)

well so I said Im sorry sir I will not do ths Order.. he said OK Ill
take it to taiwan.. we agreed to disagree,,

So basically I thought... IM NUTS as who would turn down a Order at this
time..???

So a few months later Roy E. Disney.. RESIGNS from Disney sighting
almost verbatim My same issues!!!

Imagine that.. so he started tis site clled www.savedisney.com with
Stanley Gold from thier SHAMROCK

ivestment firm and went on to dethrone Eisner and the others that had
ruled with BOTTOM line Logic

FOOTNOTE- afew months after Roy left and my refusal.. in a Trademagazine
it says Disney decides to go back to quality as they saw even dureing
Eisners tenure that Junk was undermining the brand..

also I received a letter From Disney one day that said Roy ad Eisener
had asked them to write me as I offerd Ideas
on How to Turnaround EUROdisney.. I od them instead of Useing USA
traditions in the theme.. to embrace the customs and culture of he
locallity and get locals to be involed so that Tourists would see a
world wide Disney and not USA only customs... Mickeys a International
Mouse and concept. I am not sure if they used theideas or not.. that
was like 1990 or later... I think Disney is a Universal medium to share
perpetual ideas and art and science and cultureal... It allow and has
supported every creative medium there is,, thats why I like it.

Yet they forgot what made the Magic Kindom so cool. in the fisrt
place Disney was one of the most important

lessons to me of what Quality entertainment is..The technical
acheivemenst of Disney are more than anyone
has doe in past or since,, Like sound... Film.. animatronics and you
name it
the tecnicolor Images are branded in my Brain,, Like Gepptto and his
Pinnochio... Bambi and all the rest Mickey Mouse and goofy baically took
the Human condition and played it out in toons.

Stokowski and Fantasia... even though it was above my head..:)

Coinsidence.. or some kind of cosmic messege I just sent a order to
Disney austsrailia childrens show... ? you tell me.

So when I joined the save Disney I would send Roy emails.. saying Go get
em Roy.. and attboy Roy

I was impressed/ so as You know they succed in the ouster and I
lost track of Disney.. But always thought

I would like to work with? For Roy as when I read the resignation letter
It looked like what I would write,,

So Ifelt we were on the same mind set Actually my friend sold his so
a lifesize character he makes and I was so

in awe that here he was shipping to Shamrock and I couldnt say a peep!

SoRoy was also into making films and a avid sailboater and I think was
close to Daughter and seemed to me like a great businessman.. Shamrocks
holdings are all over the place.. and the Stanley Gold teamate seemd like
a Great friend and business partnership.. that is too much misiing in
todays society and business world..

So even though Ive never met him face to face.. I think its almost
symbloic that at this time he passed as its
his commitment to serving his customers of his Uncle the world of Kids
and familys that is what I keyed into..

and whay My personal lesson from him was./
And what will live on and what he left was better than just a bank
account deposit...

To me it was his sincer concern about maintain the integrity Of the
Disney Franchise and the creative legacy

Of His Uncle Wat's visions...

Walt Im told had great bouts of depression and would lock himself in
theoffice and cry as many of his ideas were not looked at as wise or
would be understood by bankers,,
So he even had sold off his camareas and gear to finace a trip west...
he was bootlegged by many and had the rights taken away by Universal
he was the father of MERCHANDISEING Movie memorabilia..
Haveing finaceed Disney world by selling or renting Kiosks in the park
to western graphics etc.

So Roy and his Dad both knew the Disney

kindly delivered the package to me yesterday.

Tom, I am sorry for all the inconvenience and that you have
provided a replacement megaphone free of charge.

Ross, I am disappointed with the Australia Post delivery system -

obviously the delivery person could not read the address clearly
labelled on the packaged. As a consequence, I have had to spend
a considerable amount in extra postage for the delivery of the
same item again as we considered it lost in the mail system. It
has also cost Tom money as he kindly offered to send a

[MOPO] CHILDREN OF THE NIGHT--BOOK OF HORROR POSTERS--Fake horror posters

2009-12-16 Thread JIM GRESHAM

Many people have asked how they can help hold the creator of these fake horror
lobby cards and posters accountable. The legal fee's have been pretty
staggering. I have paid $10,000 just in the last couple of weeks alone.
However, we have made great progress as the restorer who created the 90 or more
fakes, identified the person responsible. That was big. Well, here you go,
here is one way you can help, buy a copy of Children of the Night-A
Comprehensive Guide to Horror Posters.

Children of the Night has gotten great reviews by purchasers. It contains over
1,000 pictures of the very best and very rarest Universal horror posters of all
time. Frankenstein, Dracula, the Mummy, The Wolf Man, etc. It is by far the
most comprehensive compilation of horror posters ever assembled. Originally
selling for $99.99, it is now a bargain at $69.99. And, profits from the sales
will definitely help offset attorney fee's. I will, on behalf of not only
myself, but the entire hobby, hold these people accountable for their wrongful
deeds. You can help, even if you own one now, buy another copy of Children of
the Night.

Many people have asked how they can help hold the creator of these
fake horror lobby cards and posters accountable. The legal fee's
have been pretty staggering. I have paid $10,000 just in the last
couple of weeks alone. However, we have made great progress as the
restorer who created the 90 or more fakes, identified the person
responsible. That was big. Well, here you go, here is one way you
can help, buy a copy of Children of the Night-A Comprehensive Guide
to Horror Posters.

Children of the Night has gotten great reviews by purchasers. It
contains over 1,000 pictures of the very best and very rarest
Universal horror posters of all time. Frankenstein, Dracula, the
Mummy, The Wolf Man, etc. It is by far the most comprehensive
compilation of horror posters ever assembled. Originally selling
for $99.99, it is now a bargain at $69.99. And, profits from the
sales will definitely help offset attorney fee's. I will, on behalf
of not only myself, but the entire hobby, hold these people
accountable for their wrongful deeds. You can help, even if you own
one now, buy another copy of Children of the Night.

Re: [MOPO] Black Cat for sale!!!

2009-12-16 Thread Phillip W. Ayling
I am always dazzled when these things are directly from an old theatre that
was being torn down or from my grandfather who ran a movie theatre in the
30's and 40's. I also so want to believe that most people who do this
aren't scamming and they see a Black Cat or King Kong Poster, and don't know
much about posters except that they know certain titles are worth huge sums
of money.

It says 1933 or 1934 on it, so that must be when the poster was made,
because they are absolutely clueless about posters. So clueless in fact,
that many times these folks even mention the name Portal Publications and
show that information (with City and ZIP Code) in the photos they post.

But there are millions and millions of US citizens, knowing nothing about
posters, who know that Zip Codes didn't even come into use until long after
any of these poster were originally made.

I know nothing about lots of other collectibles. I can't authenticate
signatures or types of paper or historical documents, but if I ran across a
Gutenberg Bible for sale and it was in English, I would be suspicious; an
original letter from George Washington with a forever stamp on the envelope,
I would be suspicious; or Greta Garbo's autograph on a DVD of Ninotchka...
