Hi from Joe B in NOLA-- with 439 positive feedbacks (no others) on Ebay.

As you can see I have moderate ebay experience but since Katrina I have dropped
off drastically in selling and buying on Ebay.
Why???  One of the main reasons is that it is now really difficult to find
things--- particularly since most is buried in the stores.

It's just too much trouble to buy and waaa too much trouble and expensive
to sell.

To hell with 'em!

The one thing that eBay doesn't seem to understand is the fact that every time
they change the view for the buyer, they wonder now what and go where they
know what they are doing instead of trying to figure out the new view.
For a site that seems to want to be a Amazon Wannabe, they should learn from
Amazon.   When you go to Amazon, the page is still basically the same as it has
been for years, best I can remember.  Always know how to buy there.   Don't
have to learn another new system and how to use it to buy.

MOPO EBAY Store Owners --

When you go to make changes to your EBAY storefront (Manage Store),
you will be sent to a message to check out THE EBAY STORES
EXPERIENCE. This is the new format for EBAY stores that is being
forced on store owners by the end of March. They let you take a look
and see if you want to start using the new format now. Oh whoopee --

This link may get your there directly --
http://cgi6.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?StoresR2AnnouncementV4

From a quick look I can say, once again, I am unimpressed. Changes
are annoying and make the store more difficult to look at with lots
of scrolling and clicking. Of course, the changes are being forced on
the sellers without any input from them. Will EBAY ever learn?

My main complaint is the issue of EBAY making changes that are
unnecessary and unsolicited by the users. They seem to do this all
the time -- sort of like change for change's sake. As to the look,
I like it when a lot of the home page is right there in front of you
and doesn't requiring a lot of up and down scrolling. I like to see
as much info and pictures, categories and announcements as possible,
to hit you right when you open the page without having to extend the
page down with scrolling.

Thanks, Channing

2009-01-13 Thread Richard Halegua Comic Art

you folks don't see the #1 reason that fleaBay is making this change:

to show more advertising

this was the thought behind the search page advance links being moved
to below the ads on every page and the only problem with it is that
when it began, I thought the first page was the only page until after
a few searches and I knew there had to be more pages which made me
scroll down further to find the link to the next page

why do they want the ads to show so much?
AD REVENUE

they're grasping at straws and every time they make an improvement
for themselves, they make a detriment to us..

Sooner or later the stock will go low enough that Google or Microsoft
will offer to buy them out so they can integrate it into their own businesses
