I would love to be in. It has taken us more than a week to work on strategies in the lower grade. I have experience as a literacy strategist for grades K-6 and also as a junior high special education teacher. I hope I can help with some of the ideas that we have used. Re: [MOSAIC] possible weekly study of strategies?
Sharon, I am new to this group also; however, I'm not new to teaching having taught for 18 years mostly in grades K and 1. I stumbled across the Mosaic of Thought and Strategies That Work over my Spring Break last year (I know, I live a real exciting life). Anyway, after reading through these books, I was enlightened and captivated by strategies (some of which I was already using) that actually made sense in the teaching of reading. As a novice in most of these strategy areas, I would be VERY interested in participating in an online discussion focusing on the strategies. I would like to implement this full-fledged in my first grade classroom in the fall. Thanks for suggesting this activity.
