If you think this SupportPac is worth the time to express your interest,
then I believe the best method to send word is to go the the SupportPac site
and open up MO12 entry. There is a section called Support. Within this
section is a hyper link that says the following:

Support

Category 2 SupportPacs are provided in good faith and
AS-IS. There is no warranty or further service implied or committed
and any supplied sample code is not supported via IBM
product service channels.

You may submit a question or offer feedback on the
SupportPac by clicking here but please be aware that a response is
NOT guaranteed.

Please read the LICENSE2 TXT file that accompanies the
SupportPac to determine if you want to use it.

Just click and type away.

When I attended a MQ Conference several years back, I went to the session
offered by the very person who wrote the MO12 SupportPac. The session was
full and I believe he did the same session two or three times more. He
spoke at length about this package and it benefits. I was convinced it was
a worthwhile tool and a little surprised it was not part of the product
itself. I later had to use it to recover a signiificant number of messages.
It worked great.

Thanks

I had sent a note using the SupportPac interface under the Support section
to ask the author about MO12 future support of V5.3 but no response was
received. From my experience, I believe this to be a good tool that
deserves full IBM support. I am sorry to see it lagging behind and possibly
being discontinued. So, there are at least two of us who are interested in
it continuing as a viable tool. Is there anyone else who might want to
replay persistent messages out of their MQ logs? I don't think there would
be too many people who would turn this down as an option.

Unfortunately, I am unaware of any other method to replay messages out of
the MQ logs.

Hi
all

I'm
happy, that I'm not the only one, who would like this functionality. If somebody
of the MQ developer team would take the effort to take this up, would be great.
>From an appl developers perspective, this is a functionality which the subsystem
should provide as a base functionality.

Some
other wishes: For me, it would already be enough, when the CSQ1LOGP
utility would slightly be extended. Criterias like what queue, timestamp,
correlation id to get back a message and simply write the message(s) to a file.
The MO12 has one disadvantage: Not all shops have licensed the C compiler, I
guess, COBOL is still more used...

Re: Analyzing the log

2003-09-18 Thread Art Schanz

Frank,

As we are also at V5.3 on z/OS, I will raise my hand to join those that are looking for continued support of MO12.  Hopefully, there are few more of us "BIBs" out there to persuade the author to update this SupportPac.

  I'll keep my fingers crossed.

Cheers,
  Art

PS - "BIBs" are Big Iron Bigots!  Although, z/OS machines might not be considered "Big Iron" any more!

I thought the MO12, MQSeries for OS/390 - Log extract program, was going to
be updated to support V5.3. However, Category 2 SupportPacs are provide
AS-IS with no guarantee for future support or service.

Thanks
    Frank

Hi

I'm still looking for a way to be able to reconstruct a message from the
system log og our 5.3 MQ on OS/390. Is some where the source of MQ provided
CSQ1LOGP available ? Or a DSECT for the log ? Or does some body have a
similar program already written (asm, cobol ?) ?

If all the above isnt true, are there third party products available ? At
what price ?

Thanks and regards

Guido
