Here's a short list of info about our game, Bombaman: - it's not finished yet - it will hopefully be released somewhere near the end of this year, but not until we think it's good enough - it will run on any MSX2 or higher with 128kb RAM and 128 kb VRAM - it is HD installable - there will be 2 game modes; multiplayer mode, where you can play with 4 people at the same time, and single player mode, which will include nice stuff like a story and bossmonsters 'n such - there's great Moonsound support (both music and sound effects) - there will be MSX-Music, MSX-Audio (both music) and PSG (sfx) support - there will be a website where you can exchange custom made levels for the game That's about all, for now. More info on the website (hopefully available soon), the URL jorrith.tmfweb.nl/bomba was only meant for sneak preview... Bye, Jorrith Schaap (yeah, the dude that has been subscribed to the mailinglist for more than a year and was too lazy to post stuff :)) PS: We are doing our best to make this one of the best MSX games ever, so please don't go asking 'will this be in the game' type questions if you want the game to be finished this year :) _ Get your FREE download of MSN Explorer at http://explorer.msn.com/intl.asp -- For info, see http://www.stack.nl/~wynke/MSX/listinfo.html

"I have a dream.." bogus?
>Hm, this sounds interesting :) >Can you tell more details from this game? Yeah! A positive mail! I like it :) It`s a game called Punx, and for now it needs a Turbo-R with Gfx-9000, and to play soundeffects you`ll need a Moonsound. The game music will be on CD. You can check out some of the music on www.algorythms.com/punx. It`s an RPG, but we`ll try to make the fighting scenes more of the Streetfighter type. The main screen will be in 512x424 pixels, in 32k colors. The game MAY come with a simple network-interface to use multiplayer. Each machine can then have two players. The game will (if finished) get shitloads of patches and stuff for other hardware, music, tracks, gfx. The game is about kicking nazi ass, and I can`t find any machine or society that is less nationalistic than MSX, cuz every MSX`er in every country do what they can to keep the MSX alive! I recon MSX is an idealist machine ;) >There is new game development in Netherlands too, I have seen parts of it >and it looks astounding. While I agree that people should not claim that things are for a friend when they really want them themselves, do not see why anyone *would* do such a thing. No-one would sell their collector's item stuff much cheaper to a newbie anyway. It seems rather pointless to me... I find it much more unlikely that 3 people would do such a silly thing on the same day than that 3 people would post a question from a friend who isn't on the list him- or herself... So, please, everyone: - Don't say something is for a friend if it is for yourself, and - Don't go around accusing people of things that you have no clue to whether or not they actually did it. After all, this is the MSX list, not a flames-and-accusations list. Hugs to everyone, Wynke. -- For info, see http://www.stack.nl/~wynke/MSX/listinfo.html

You clearly did not understand my point. Let's try again. I discussed this already with Saku Taipale, so I'll just copy and paste from an old email. Don't really feel like typing it again: I really really doubt that 3 friends of 3 totally different people came up with the idea of getting MSX hardware through their friends on the very same night! Yeah right... Be brave and say it's for yourself! Don't ask for cheap hardware for a friend who wants to start doing things on MSX, just pay the price it is worth and admit it's for yourself. The love for MSX and the respect for fellow MSX'ers should not be abused to gain personal profit. -IF- in this case those 3 friends did ask for hardware on the same night by coincidence, then just see the email as a message to all of us, and then I apologize to the people in question in this email.
