[MSX] Generation MSX Website updated

2005-03-28 Thread Sandy Pleyte
Hi All,
Tonight I updated Generation-MSX (http://www.generation-msx.nl) again
after a long time.

A small summary:
- Company Info
- New search engine
- New software info pages
- And more
check the site for the complete changes.
Since Generation-MSX is growing bigger and bigger, I'm also looking for
people who can help me with maintaining the MSX Software database. If
you know much of conversions that are made, or like to search software
that is not in the database or create the missing screenshots, please
let me know.

Regards,
Sandy

Well, the list on Generation MSX is back online. And soon the translations

 Hi,

I was planning to put a list of translated games on my
 website as well
(Defender Online - translations section). It's not there yet,
 but I will
surely put it only shortly. On the MSX Resource Center
 forums, a similar
request was made, so apparently such a list is very much appreciated.

And Sandy - isn't it an idea for the games database on your
 site to mention
whether a game has been translated to English by amateurs or not?

Hmmm. something is wrong.
After you choose file-new-project, what's the project name you chose?
where you saved it? After you saved nothing shows up on the code window
(it
should at least on the normal version shows a begin end.)? And what
about the treeview? Does it shows anything at all?

Seems to me that when the program asks where to save the project file,
you
hit cancel; or are you using it on win2k? I've got one report of the
save
dialog not showing on win2k, although I used an 100% win2k compatible

Hmm, well It seems that also don't get the save project file box. When I

Hi,

I just downloaded MSX Pad 1.2 (according to the about box ? where can I
download 1.3 ? it does exist according to the history.txt), looks very
cool, but I have a newbie question :))

When I start MSX Pad and select File-New-Project, I can choose for
normal or Game. After choosing normal, the screen stay's blank (also
when I choose for Game), but ok, so then I type some stuff, but I can't
save it ?? The save menu item stays off :((

I also looked in the manual (under the help button) but it doesn't say
anything about it. Btw, the help file isn't correct ? but I guess you
already know :) (the contents shows a lot of items with the same title
Turbo Pascal - Long Entry, and the next/previous entry doesn't work
correct). But hey, keep on going !! great product !!

Some form of map telling me that the lower line is x units long

Scan the logo from a manual or something, should be a large picture and

Rom Formats

2001-01-22 Thread Sandy Pleyte

Hi,

for the last few day's I'm following the discussion about the extended
ROM etc. I saw in a e-mail from Sean Young that he has 15 diffrent ROM
types.

# 0 standard (no mapper)
# 1 msx-dos 2
# 2 konami5 with SCC
# 3 konami4 without SCC
# 4 ascii/8kb
# 5 ascii/16kb
# 6 Game Master 2 with SRAM
# 7 ascii/8kb with 8kb SRAM
# 8 ascii/16kb with 2kb SRAM
# 9 r-type
# 10 Konami mah-jong 2 (majutsuhi)
# 11 Panasonic fm-pac
# 12 Super Load Runner
# 13 Konami Synthesizer
# 14 Cross Blaim

But I was wondering, how does my MSX handle all these ROM types ?
because if I insert a r-type cart, my MSX run's it with no problems. So
do all emulator's have a bug in the memory handeling ? Or does nobody
know how a real MSX handles those ROMs ? Because if a emulator can
detect it also, I only have to choose a ROM file, and not a type.

Or am I complete wrong ?

RE: Disk-Drive is making nosie and is no longer reading disks!

Hi Mari,

I don't know where to get this belt, more people have problem
 finding them.
I've allready send some messages to people who hopefully can help me with
this belt or replacing the disk-drive.

The belt is sold by Rinus Stoker from MSX Info for F5,80.

I know... The disk-drive can't be found in European shops... and I even
think it is hard to find them anywhere else... Maybe in japan?

The drives are still available in japan (Panasonic spare parts), but we as
european people can't order there, we have to order it in Germany. I
e-mailed Germany, and they gave me a adres in Holland where I could buy
these original Turbo-R drives. But now comes the shock, I asked what the
price was when I would order 20 drives, well the price of 1 drive is: fl.
559.68 ex BTW.(254 EURO) and then there are also fl. 50 shippings costs.
E-mail me when you want the adres. Here some info from Panasonic Japan:

Service part information

Description :Floppy Disk Drive for MS-A1ST
Inventory : Yes, enough to cover 20 pcs at the factory,Japan

it's loading MSX DOS 2.30 (same version as my msx-dos kernel). When I try to
load idefdisk.com it say's:

No IDE system installed during startup!

Try to play the game alone, specially stages 83, 95 and 100 (the last

You can find those keycombo's yourself in the special stages in the game.
After finishing one (enter by touching some sort of castle) you get the

 RLLRUDDR(2 extra lifes ; U=up)
 ULDUDRUD(all shoes; L=left)
 DRDLUDDU(witch stage 1-85; R=right)
 UUULUULU(5 extra lifes)
 RLDULRUD(all shoes+2 candys)
 LDLRULUR(all shoes en candys)

ULDLDUUL(Super Bubble Bobble) [now you can use the following

 DULDLUDU(alle schoentjes)
 RRUUDLUU(witch stage (1-30); D=down)
 LRUR(2 extra lifes; U=up)
 URLLUUUD(purple candys; L=left)

LDLULDLU(all shoes + candys, no yellow)
 RURDRURD(all shoes + candys)

hmm, i thought you had to pause the game, and then enter the Cursor

L = Left
U = Up
D = Down
R = Right

but i'm not for sure...

Also, there's a game for NES, called "Legend of Guardian", and this game is

As far as i can guess, is that the helped with programming the games,

 Hi,

Sorry to use the mailing list for this, but I don't know the
 correct e-mail
 address.

I bought Randar-II on the fair in Tilburg today, but it isn't working.
Judging from the sounds the disk drive is making, I think the disk is
broken. Can i exchange it by snail mail or can I get Randar-II by e-mail?

 Hello to you all,

For those of you who may be interested there
is a very good program that transfers the
contents from tapes to disk that can be found
in the same webpage as the No$MSX emulator.
It's title is tape2hdd.exe and it is a PC
 executable.
I have tried it with a few rare tapes of mine
and it works great! You will only have to
configure a couple of switches under difficult
 circumstances.
I think this piece of info should be updated
 to the www.faq.msxnet.org doesn't anybody
 think the same?

RE: ascii - Sea Sardine

1999-03-13 Thread Sandy Pleyte

 Hi, Gerald:

GS Some years ago (1991) I saw a game on a disk from ASCII-magazine
GS called Sea Sardine. I copied it and finished part one as
 only part one
  GS was on the disk.

Hm. I have not finished Sea Sardine yet.

HMM, isn't that a msx2+ game from MSX Magazine ?

Sandy

GS Does anybody have part two? Does anyone know if there even exists a
  GS part two?

 It would be nice!

RE: TE Soft Disk Specials

1999-03-11 Thread Sandy Pleyte

 Hello,

in 1988 TE Soft released TE Disk Special 1 and in 1989 they released
number 2. Does anybody know something more about them.

I can't tell you anything about them (long time ago I looked at these
 disks!).

i have 1A and 2A, is there somebody who has others ?

 I have both disks, 1A, 1B, 2A and 2B...

Can you send me disk 1B and 2B ? I want to show them on my homepage.

Mail me at : [EMAIL PROTECTED]
