That is the same method that I have always used to run them on the Turbo R.

Yes, I have a Sanyo Wavy 70FD
(PHC stands for Personal Home Computer, it doesn't belong in the name).

But I thought a lot of MSX2+-computers had KUN-Basic built-in, as well as
the MSX turboR!!!

I remember those little turboR-only proggies on Sunrise Magazine... They
used KUN-Basic. I could run some of them on my MSX2 by loading KUN-Basic...

Just download the roms of a msx2+ from the MEP.

btw. the msx2+ basic-rom can be used on a (emulated) msx2. I used the
cjs-emulator for this. The only problem was the different keyboard-layout
(also a problem when using fmsx in msx2+ mode). I've hacked most of the
wrong keyboardmapping out of the bios, but I don't know if I've done it ok.
The keyboard works though.

Is there a "official" translated version of those msx2+ roms?

MSX-Basic V3.0 and higher

1999-07-21 Thread Giovanni R. Nunes

  Dirk,

The command included in MSX Basic 3.0 (MSX2+) is the "SET SCROLL" that
scroll the screen using the V9958 resources. I don't remember of any
  new command. Anybody know?

In MSX Basic 4.x (MSX Turbo R) are included the "_PCMPLAY" and
"_PCMREC" to work with TR PCM's and the "_PAUSE" that enable you to
make pauses without the "for i=0 to 99:next i", this command get the
syncro direcctly from S1990 then the pause is the same in Z80 or R800
  mode.

Other commands are the relative to JIS-Driver. Remember that this
commands are included in SubROM and the SubROM don't increase your
  size since MSX2.

By the way, do you know that the MSX-DOS2 ROM provided in RuMSX (the
powerfull Turbo-R emulator) is the 2.2 version and not 2.3 (preperlly
  of TR machines). Hahahahaha!

Well the differences between 2.0 (MSX2) and 3.0 (MSX2+) are that 3.0
supports the SET SCROLL command for the v9958 videochip.

And if I remember correct basic v4.0 featured some extra commands (all
CALLs) to use the PCM-chip.

And most 3.0-versions and all 4.0-versions also featured KUN-Basic.
