accented characters

2001-06-09 Thread Benjamin Michotte

hello,

I use a 1.2.5i and i've got all my accent but when i try to install a
1.3.x, there are not available. I try with --enable-locales-fix,
--enable-nfs, --disable-... , but I only have some ? instead of thoses
accents.

In my .muttrc, I've got
set charset=iso-8859-1

How can I have my accent with a 1.3.x ?

It's the same... but in fact, this is very desappointing because it
works fine on 1.2.5 but not in 1.3.x

always problem with accents

2001-08-14 Thread Benjamin Michotte

hello,

I wrote some weeks ago about a problem with the accents in mutt 1.3.x .
Yesterday, I tried all the afternoons to understand where it comes
from... without any success.

In fact, when I use my mutt 1.2.5i, I haven't any problem with them.
-> éèçà <-

I tried with a lot of LC_ALL, LC_MESSAGE and so on but nothing change.
I've \351 instead of é, \352 instead of è...

I also tried to compile with some options like --enable-locales-fix...
no change.

How can is it possible ?
It's only with the 1.3.x ... with the 1.2.x (i recompiled yesterday
1.2.1 for testing) and without --enable-locales-fix, I don't have the
accents but with it, I've got my accents)

is it a problem with my system ? if yes, what's the problem ?

hook problem

2001-08-31 Thread Benjamin Michotte

hello,

I want to use some *-hook, but there's something boring. When I start
mutt, I'm in my spool directory.
I've got those hook

unhook *
set default_hook = "~f %s !~P | (~P ~C %s)"
# close all threads
folder-hook . push "\eV"
save-hook ^judge +diplomacy
send-hook . 'set nopgp_autosign'
send-hook mutt 'set pgp_autosign'
send-hook linux 'set pgp_autosign'

and so, when I start mutt, i've got a "beep" and this error message:
There are no messages.

How can I change this ?

Also, I close all threads by default and have set
set uncollapse_jump = yes
set collapse_unread = yes

but is there a way to open threads with new or unread message when
opening a mailbox ?

last question: how can i set mutt to ask to open mailbox with unread
messages ? I've set nomark_old=yes but it seems to don't work.

Oh my god...
I just switched from mbox to maildir... and also reswitch to mbox...

2 minutes 38 to open my in.mutt maildir (± 6000 mails) instead of 18

also, how to change my procmail filter to maildir ?
Maildirs are
foo/
foo/cur/
foo/new/
foo/tmp/

When I receive a new mail to foo, I've got
foo/
foo/cur/
foo/new/
foo/tmp/

GPG-PGP

Hello,

when mutt send a GPG message, it use PGP/MIME as defined in RFC 2015
and/or 3156.

Some friends use mua as kmail which still use PGP "in line" as described
in RFC 1991 and receive my mails signed/crypted as attachments.

Is it possible to ask mutt sending signed messages "in line" or must I
force my friends to use mutt ? (I try but is difficult ;p)

one folder for a box, each mail in a separate file.

opening a mbox with ± 7000 mails : less than 10 seconds.
opening the same in Maildir : 3 minutes...

My ~/mail is on a 600 Mb reiserfs partition. I think I will convert my
/home dir to ext3 and then try Maildir to compare.

It takes about 7 seconds to open my mutt archive with 7914 messages.

yes, I know. I tried to convert my mbox to Maildirs, but about 3 minutes
to open a folder is really awfull, so I keep mbox

Oh my good... convert my reiserfs partition to ext3...
about 10-15 seconds to open my mutt Maildir now !!!
Absolutly... reiserfs sucks.

the first opening takes about 20 seconds (for this 7900 mails) and when
it's cached, it takes about 10-15 seconds, which is really more
acceptable ;)

Maildir problem

2002-02-25 Thread Benjamin Michotte

hello,

if I use mbox format, when I press c then ? I've got all my box listed
and those with new mail on top. Now, since I use Maildir format, they
are listed by order of creation of the directory. So 'inbox' ie is at
the end of the list, even if I've got new mails on it.

How can reorder this ? I can't find any variable in the manual.

cu,
binny

ps: sorry for my bad english
