Re: [newbie] Adding new Desktop Environments

Take a look at: /usr/share/config/kdm and the kdmrc file. Under the
subsection of: [X-*-Greeter] is a line for something like Session Type. I
believe that editing that line to add gnome and put things in the correct
order will do what you ask.

Re: [newbie] If xcdroast is on my computer, where might I find it?!

2002-03-21 Thread Dan Shackelford

I use Mandrake 8.0, and the CD burning programs are under Applications ... Archiving
... CD Burning. If you dont see them there, then perhaps the default install did not
install them and you will have to add them through Software Manager (look under
INSTALLABLE).

Hope this helps.

Any suggestions on where to look in my files for GUI burning programs? I'm also on

Also, I've had friends who speak of Apple computers running Toast where extraction

Re: [newbie] SCSI Emulatio

2002-02-04 Thread Dan Shackelford

Edit your configuration file.

If you use LILO, edit /etc/lilo.conf so that under your present boot
section you have
append = hd?=ide-scsi
(where the question mark is replaced with the drive designation of the CD-R
or CD-RW drive, for example for the common arrangement where it's the
secondary master ide device you would have hdc=ide-scsi). If there's
already an append line there, just add this to it. Save the lilo.conf you
just edited and then type: /sbin/lilo (on a root command line).

ld.so-1.9.11-4mdk.i586.rpm

Once that was installed, WP runs just fine on my machine.

I too would like to see this resolved once and for all. I had no

 I can't even successfully run ldd /opt/wordperfect/wpbin/xwp! I

I believe the answer is to install them BOTH, at the same time, i.e.

rpm -U (or whatever) KERNAL.rpm IPTABLES.rpm

So I got the latest iptables rpm, and --test 'ed it, too, and it says
it needs the 2.4.13 kernel.

So I'm stuck in a catch-22, and I'm wondering what's the
