Re: [newbie] Nvidia 'no screens found' error
Well I sorted it out today, by doing the most simple thing. I reinstalled the drivers and it worked. When I was looking at the error message I noticed another error mentioning a kernal error, so I thought let me re-install the drivers first to see if that will do the job and it did. Thanks anyway for your help. ciao... [newbie] Graphical Boot is not working
I have installed Linux, which seems fine. But when I boot it trys to start X, but fails. It mentions editing a config file, but does not say what it needs to do. I had Linux working fine on my old system, but the new system does not like it it seems. The graphics card and other PCI slot cards are the same. I did find at the end ofthe installation it would say that all was done but could not unmount some disks. Oh yes I also have to do a text install, cause a graphical install seems to hang the machine. Ok, but it was working perfectly for both versions before I started to try and get the dual display working. Doesn't the new Nvidia drivers do the install for you now? Thanks Ciao Gareth Qually www.slowlymakingsmoke.com The NVIDIA driver has to be compiled for a specific kernel version.
