Re: [newbie] audiogala satellite
Hi Sridhar, You just have to untar the archive in your home dir. and then on the AGSatellite0520 dir. created, make an account.txt file and on the first line type your Login name and on the second your password. After you create the shares.txt file and type the dir. where you are going to store your MP3s. Something like /home/YOU/My Music When that's done just open a terminal and do to the AGSatellite0520 dir and type ./AGSatellite (if using the satic. If using the glibc find out which one) to launch it. It should detect you have no MP3 yet and then you just go to the web page and log in. Start downloading your MP3s and enjoy :) :) ;) :D TezcatlipocA -Original Message- From: Sridhar Dhanapalan [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] [EMAIL PROTECTED]; pepe torrres [EMAIL PROTECTED] Date: Thursday, August 30, 2001 8:48 AM Subject: Re: [newbie] audiogala satellite On Thu, 30 Aug 2001 13:10, pepe torrres wrote: how do i make that prog work? whish one do i have to download? the static or the glibc whats the difference? [newbie] I got Real Player to work on KDE!!!
Hi Sher and Everyone. I am so happy I'm almost jumping that Real Player 8 is now working on KDE too. Thanks to Sher I found out what the problem was. However, I didn't have to do anything about Mime and plugin manual installs (besides not knowing what are mimes or how to install them). Well sher told me to ckeck where the executable file was. I did some investigation until I found the file on my Home directory. There was the Realplayer directory and in there the RealPlayer executable file. I had seen it before but I didn't want to click on it because I thought it would attempt to install RP8 again. When I clicked on it it cleanly launched RP on KDE. It works!!! The problem is that the launcher on the Kmenu-Multimedia-RealPlayer8 is broken. It doesn't work like in Gnome. Sher or anyone, now I would just appreciate any help on how to glue together (fix) this broken launcher on KDE. THANK YOU! ! ! -- TezcatlipocA
[newbie] How to get IntelliMouse to work
Hi friends, I have an IntelliMouse or a mouse with the wheel that although I set it up on the installation it didn't want to work afterwards. Well yesterday I was playing with the mouse settings and I got it to work (the wheel). First I went to DrakConf then to Hardware Configuration. Then look for the mouse. Click on the mouse there, most likely it will say unknown. Select it and click where it says Run Configuration tool. There select the IntelliMouse under PS/2 (if applicable). Click OK. Close everything and reboot. After that your mouse should work if it doesn't wait some more my didn't after the first reboot. I noticed it worked until hours later. Re: [newbie] Real Player Installation Problem?
Hi Sher, I really apreciate your help. I would really like a copy of RP 7 but unfortunately I do not have a broadband connection. I use a 56k modem. Do you by chance have it on your webpage? Another thing is if Real Player would not work on 7.2 why does it work on Gnome then? I installed while on KDE but it doesn't finish loading when I launch it. But when I'm on Gnome it works just fine. Something else is that I did not install the rmp version I installed the rp8_linux20_libc6i386_cs1.bin one, which is the one that says to download and install on LM 7.2 on the Demo pages. On Monday 21 May 2001 19:34, you wrote: Dear TezcatlipocA: I know precisely how to solve this. I had the same problem. The problem has to do with the fact that RealPlayer 8 (built on Red Hat) uses the new rpm v. 4 and NOT rpm v.3, which was used up till LM 7.2. Rpm v.4 was first introduced in Mandrake with LM 8.0. I tried to install RealPlayer 8 in LM 7.2 (as you are doing). First, DO NOT DO IT! It is meant for a different architecture, that is, for rpm v.4. Secondly, I tried the rpm8...bin file. The plugins didn't work. Your best bet is either to get LM 8.0 or else to get RealPlayer 7. There is little difference between RealPlayer 7 and 8 for all practical purposes (unless the sites you wish to play specifically demand RP8). Well, there is no way to get RealPlayer 7 from RealPlayer itself. They only have the latest version. But you are in luck. I have a copy of RealPlayer 7, the rpm version that will work perfectly with LM 7.2. If you decide you want it and have a broadband connection, write to me and I'll send it to you by attachment. Be sure in that case to install the plugins in Mimetypes/Plugins under RealPlayer's Help menu category. Benjamin On Monday 21 May 2001 17:24, you wrote: Hellow :) I have a new problem. You can certainly move the emails from this list to a different folder, but they won't move there automatically unless you set something special up to do that. I think some mail clients can filter mail, presumably into different folders, and then there are things like procmail. Neither is for the real novice. Why don't you reply with the name of the email client you are using -- maybe someone can tell you whether it has filtering capability built in. Presumably you are on Linux.
