[newbie] ATI RADEON 9250 . MDK 10.1 . DUAL DISPLAY
Hi all, I don't know if some of you use the dual display (like M$) but I was working on my box for at least 2 days until yesterday. I finally got the 2nd monitor as an extension of my primary monitor. I know that for sure 'cause I can move my mouse and any windows. I also can see any windows on the desktop switcher. The problem is that I see all the content of the primary monitor like it was a mask except that I can click on it. Here's my box info: motherboard: A7N8X-8 video card: ATI Radeon 9250 (dual head) CPU: AMD Sempron +2400 I know there some issues about ATI/NVIDIA during my google search. This is what I've done so far: NVIDIA grapic driver: NVIDIA-Linux-x86-1.0-6629-pkg1.run ATI graphic driver: fglrx_4_3_0-8.10.19-1.i386.rpm (but uninstalled for debugging) A special attention was made with ATI. When I installed this ATI driver and user fglrxconfig, their XF86Config-4 didn't work thus generating an error: (WW) no matching device (BUSID: 2:0:1) found... (something like this) which I modified my original XF86Config. Now my main concern is the glx/fglrx. Befor all this, I launch glxgears which worked until I install the ATI driver (fglrx_4_3_0-8.10.19-1.i386.rpm). I could see the 2 gears rolling (I think glxgears is something to show my 3D rendering). Now, either I user glxgears or fglrxinfo, I get this error: [EMAIL PROTECTED] song]$ glxgears Xlib: extension GLX missing on display :0.0. [newbie] RE: [XFree86] No Keyboard
I had the same problem with Mandrake 10.0 + XFree86 4.4.0: thekeyboard lockedin runlevel 5, but not runlevel 3. I finally started disabling modules using interactive boot anddisabled Mandrake's "keytable" module. Disabling it worked for me. It wasn't necessary, but you maywant to disable the "numlock" module as well. It doesn't necessarily prove that "keytable" is the culprit, but certainly there is some interaction involved.
[newbie] same problem in mdk 10
Hi All, Just install Mandrake-10.0. Everything went OK without any kind of problem. Lots of improvement in graphic. Love it for that! KDE is going candy style IMHO. I've been always been a good GNOME Desktop guy. Except only that it have the same problem as in Mandrake-9.2. This problem is that I can't cycle my application windows with 'Alt-Tab'.I see that it's config automatically. If anybody is using GNOME Desktop in Mandrake-10.0, can you please tell me if you have the same problem or how can you fix it. TIA. PS. Congratulation for the Mandrake Team. The errors was that all depencies of mysql was conflicting with mysql-4.0.15.2mdk.. Now that's was weird. By the time you will read, I've already installed mysql with the source tarballs. I'm satisfied by the way I did it but it works. In my case, it seems that I have to start mysqld_safe with another port than the one by default (3306). Another strange thing, my /tmp cannot be read by mysqld_safe. I saw the localhost.err log file. Dit I miss something here?
