I don't remember if I wrote back to tell you things worked out. I basically did as Ed said, tried to fiddle in the install with the settings. Seems to have helped. That and the Nvidia drivers may have helped too. Not sure. But everything seems good again. :) Thx Ed. terms sounds correct enough to me... some folks might call them ttys or vty or text console. I likie console... have you tried starting at run level three and correcting the xconfig? I believe the F11 one: Ummm, I'm pretty sure that your filesystem type has nothing to do with screen output in console (term) mode. That's a VGA/SVGA framebuffer issue. Perhaps your card wasn't properly detected during setup? Of course, if it *IS* ext3 related, how about running a different FS. Do you really *need* a JFS? No i don't need a Journalizing sys. But i wanted to try it, seeing as it seems faster. Ext2 is slow, and i'm trying ot find what works for me learn all at once. Maybe a bad way to go about it but I'm still having fun.
