that says JR something like, SIOCDELRT not found. I don't think
 those are the actual
JR words to the error message, but the general idea. What is
 SIOCDELRT?

I'm having exactly the same problem with 10OE the Speedtouch 330 DSL Modem
(albeit USB).

It works fine under 9.2 10CE, but not official.

I'm quite eager to know what SIOCDELRT is as thats what I get when I try
to run the modem SIOCDELRT: No Such Process and then the connection
attempt fails.

Hopefully some brainy Linux guru out there can enlighten us all!

Jeff, this may or may not help you, but try this:

 Open MCC Network Internet Connecton

 My host name is chris.localdomain
 Connection type is lan
 Interface is eth0
 IP is 192.168.1.2
 Protocol is dhcp
 Driver is 8139too

I vagely remember way back about two years ago when setting up my dsl

If that dosent work for you call 1-877-274-6275 Ext 7202 or 6228. That

Thanks! I will give it a shot tomorrow.

The dialup settings wouldn't be an issue. I do have a fax/modem in the

Would it be possible to get a cheap router, and connect through that?
I had no problems connecting to SBC yahoo! DSL when I switched from
Windows to Mandrake and I have a router because I have to share the
connection with my dad. You just toss your login and password into
the router configuration, and set your mandrake box to connect to the
router. Should be easy as pie, no?

At least, it's something to consider if the other advice you've
received in the list here doesn't fix it and let you connect to the
 external modem directly?
Jeff
It is likely that you are already online so this may not help. I am
running 10.0 Official and have had my problems. Do not call the help
line the people who answer that line know nothing about computers and
have a computer program based on M$ so IMHO they are worse than
nothing. My problem was resolved as a username password problem which
you cannot set unless you can contact yahoo. I would suggest that you
call DSL Maint @ 1-877-274-6275 Ext. 7202 or 6228. They know their
system and are helpful altho they dont know linux.

Does your ISP use PPoE or PPoA (Point-To-Point over Ethernet/ATM)? Many DSL
providers do, in which case you'll have to set up your DSL modem for PPoE
(DrakConnect should make this easy).

A Google Groups post:
http://groups.google.com/groups?q=mandrake+speedstream+5100+supporthl=enlr=lang_enie=UTF-8selm=jK-dnc4Z2flGHrbdRVn-tw%40giganews.comrnum=1

mentions that the hardware should work out of the box, so the issue
regarding DSL modem interoperability shouldn't be a problem. I'll bet that
you have it set up for plain ol' ethernet and DHCP and the ISP requires
either PPoE or PPoA.

Again, drakconnect should make this real easy.

I recently hooked up with sbcglobal.net and I had to take yahoo for
mail. When you have to get info from those people dont tell them its
for linux. Since most of them don't know the system they are supposed
to support they may never know. An email with a specific request takes
a day but the info is good. Talking to them is near hopeless.
When you boot into KDE there is a panel in the center of the screen.
That is one of your accesses to mcc if you unchecked the box click on
the welcome flag. Click on the lower left hand icon (Configure System).
From here you can set up everything you need to connect. Ask questions
here if you need help.
