Margot, you're right. The plural of 'mouse' (i.e., the object you were
 referring to) is 'mouses'.

In my part of the world we refer to more than 1 pointing device as rodents :)

Although I'm not a native speaker, I've read lots of texts on Linguistics.
I recommend the book The Language Instinct by Steven Pinker. It's a
wonderful read and not so full of difficult terminologies.

Perhaps thats just what we should do here too.

I agree. Mice are animals. Mouses are not. Nut I wouldn't get upset about
anyone who calls mouses mice.
So long as they don't call viruses virii!

Can FS users be apolitical, can we separate politics from our choice
of an OS? Or maybe the question should be, can we *risk* being
apolitical when our choice of OS is under attack so to speak?

I was fortunate enough to hear RMS speak on a Linux Lunacy tour a few years

Saw him in Sheffield a few weeks ago. He spoke for nearly two hours
without notes, and without hesitation, repetition or deviation.

Unfortunately the talk was about European Software Patents, which is
inherently boring, but even so I'm glad I saw him.

I'd hoped to smuggle my five month old daughter in, in case some of the
genius rubbed off, but she's discovered yodelling.

Sorry but I didn't see what the linkage was, though I didn't have time

The last paragraph, for your convenience:

A non-free program is a predatory social system that keeps people in a
state of domination and division, and uses the spoils to dominate more.
It may seem like a profitable option to become one of the emperor's
lieutenants, but ultimately the ethical thing to do is to resist the
system and put an end to it.
