Re: [Re: [newbie] Mouse freaks]
By default COMs 1 and 3 share IRQ4, and COMs 2 and 4 share IRQ3...it's possible if your using a Serial Mouse on COM 1 and a modem on COM 3 that there is an IRQ conflict. I would recommend either changing Modem to a diff. IRQ (eg: 9 or 10), or Modem to a diff COM (eg: COM 2/IRQ3). just my 0.02 worth...:) HTH Jaguar Dennis <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> wrote: > On Sun, 26 Dec 1999 21:27:03 -0500, you wrote: > > >On Sun, 26 Dec 1999, G_REEPER wrote: > >> -BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- > >> Hash: SHA1 > >> > >> this is aproblem that has just started in the last few days. If so, check irq's with the new item, and see if the conflict is there -- Alex (Go easy on me, I'm a COBOL programmer in real life)

Tried that. I have even had the xserver to send it's output to a file to look for a error. It is clean of errors. thanks steven - Original Message - From: Alex V Flinsch <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> To: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Sent: Sunday, December 26, 1999 9:08 PM Subject: Re: [newbie] Mouse freaks > On Sun, 26 Dec 1999, you wrote: > > Logitech Mouseman+ PS2 Same in Linux. > > I'm fixing to re install for the third time since this started having this > > trouble which was about 4 days ago. > > > > I have the same mouse and told Linux that it is a generic ps2 mouse, and have > had no problems with it. > > > -- > Alex > (Go easy on me, I'm a COBOL programmer in real life) >

[newbie] Mouse freaks
-BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE- Hash: SHA1 this is aproblem that has just started in the last few days. I can be in kde, gnome, or window maker , it doesn't matter. After a short time it's like the mouse freaks out the panel at the bottom" that is where mine is" slides off screen, and all kinds of popup menus start appearing. It wil lnot let me move my mouse to the center of the screen. Instead it just jumps off of one side to the other. I haven't changed any settings, in either Xconfig, or with the mouse. Sometimes the only way out is to reset the system. Everything works fine in Windows so I'm a little lost here. I'm using Mandrake 6.1. Thanks for any help.
