 Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone could point me in the right direction? I would
like to know how to add menu items to the menus and buttons on the task
bar. Specifically in ICEwm running in Mandrake 7.1. I know how to take
care of this in Gnome and KDE, but I'm absolutely at a loss for ICEwm.

Using mandrake 7.1, makes this very easy.

Make entries in
~/.menu
/etc/menu
/usr/lib/menu
/usr/lib/menu/default

(See man update-menus and man menufile for details)

then run update-menus
After doing that, all menus in all window managers (that use menus) will be the
same.

Alex,

Thanks for the response. Since I posted this message I found the menu, and
preferences files and have been working with them. I also found a utiltiy
at the IceWM site that makes a lot of this even easier. What I haven't
been able to fix yet though is getting a menu when I click on the
desktop. At present I am limited using the "Linux" button on the task bar
everytime I want to access the start menu.

Any suggestions? BTW I checked in /etc/menu and there wasn't anything in
there. It was an empty dir. Could I copy my menu file from ~/.icewm and
use that as the globol file?

thanks...
