I believe that 83 is a ext2 FS 82 is the swap partition. How to
resize it? I dunno use CD1 boot with it, resize those partitions? :)

Sorry I'm not that helpful. But I hope that gives you some info you

No, that is a big help, at least jogged my memory a little, and you are
correct about the 82, 83 thing. the other numbers must be the number of
sectors?
Although the first one is a little confusing with three numbers.

OK, I think I have it
0,750,83 # start of disk 750 MB ext2 hda1
,128,82 # next 128 MB swap hda2
,200,83 # next 200 MB ext2 hda3
,,83# rest of disk ext2 hda4

What FSes can you resize with DiskDrake? I've been wanting

Plus ofcourse, it helps if you do a disk defragging so the available
spaces are intact and together

With MDK 8.2 you have the possibility with harddrake to create a new partition
, for instance /usr. you will be asked if you want to move the data which is
in your old /usr partition. Then say yes and you will get a new /usr
partition and then your / partition will be bigger.

Here's what I did.

I did tar.gz backups of both / and /home partitions. Copied them to
spare space on my Windows partition (one of the few uses for it these
days), also backed them up onto cdrw (belt and braces). Then did a
re-install of MDK 7.2 (since migrated to 8.2), adjusting partition size
- transferring space from /home to / during this procedure. Having
completed all that, I restored the backups. All accomplished in about
half a day. Experts may know of a shorter route.
