I'm guessing it is a supermount issue or something. Anyone know any

And to all that responded to my earlier question about the Nvidia
utility, thanks, yanc that's the one I was trying to remember.

The way I linked xmms to cds in 9.0 didn't work with 9.1, so I use
Play Location from the + menu, then /mnt/cdrom

It will not be anything to do with supermount. Music CDs are not mounted at
all. You would not have neen able to see them in a file browser in 8.1
either.
Assuming you mean that kscd will not play them, then it is most likely to be
an issue with the device name for your CD drive.
Your CD drive will be /dev/cdrom or /dec/scd0 or /dev/scd1

(I assume also that you were able to play CDs in 8.1 and so the analogue audio
cable is fited between the drive and the sound card.)

Well it all works when the cd is in /mnt/cdrom2, which is actually a DVD
drive. /mnt/cdrom is a cd-rw writer type drive. That's close enough to
make me happy.
