When you create a user, that user normally is not active until you give
him a password. With the standard security settings, you can not have
an empty password. (This is what you would need to have an open account.)
What you can try is to log in as root at one of the virtual consoles,
and type passwd user name where user name is the name of the user
that you have created for an open loogon. Then just hit enter when
prompted for a password. I am not at my Linux box right now, so I can
not test it. It will ether give you a blank password, or exit without
changing the password. I don't know for sure. You can leave the other
user in place.
In 9.2, you can set things up so that you have a user automaticly logged
in to the GUI on boot. I would think you could do the same thing in
9.1. I don't know if this would do what you are after.
