Use the kernel-enterprise package instead of the standard kernel. As its name suggests, it is designed with more powerful systems -- such as yours -- in mind. wait, that cant be right. linux runs big honkin servers that use a MINIMUM of 4 GB of memory. I'm researching this, but I wanted to chime in for the meantime.
