RE: [newbie] TV howto set it up (fwd)

Everything except "MIC" is higher than 0% in "alsamixer". Note that with some of the original Brooktree drivers there was a reported problem wherein the TV tuner card's audio output was not being enabled or reset. Since the card comes up with audio output OFF, this can be problematic. How can I change it or make it out?

You might want to search the Redhat archives on this subject. Several months ago I was involved in a discussion about this very subject. Someone came up with a patch to the BTTV driver to enable the Tuner card's audio output upon initialization... Reports were that this solved the problem. I have not tested this myself. -JMS |-Original Message- |From: Max Moritz Sievers [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] |Sent: Sunday, June 18, 2000 8:49 AM |To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] |Subject: RE: [newbie] TV howto set it up (fwd) | | |Am Sun, 18 Jun 2000 schrieb Jose M. Re: [newbie] TV howto set it up (fwd)
Can anyone tell me what files, and where they are to setup the WinTV? I know it is here somewhere, and I have looked everywhere in the file structure, but to no avail. Where is it, and how to set up? I am running V7 and KDE. Thanks for your help. So much to learn, so little time. Regards, Gary Gary, You'll need something like KwinTV that I downloaded from Linuxberg. You'll also need the drivers for your card. I have hauppauge WinTV and use the BTTV drivers and you can learn about how to configure and get it all up an running at the BTTV Howto at www.linuxdoc.org. Andrew
