Why not just use the best one there is ;) Ultimate IRCd --
www.shadow-realm.org. I seem to remember having some problems
compiling it on mandrake, but as far as I remember it was easily
fixed too. You should definitely check it out.

You're going to need to update the CD sources, mate.
I downloaded and made the CD from the ISO.

Meanwhile, you should be able to just pop in the CD, navigate to where
it's at, double-click on it, and voila! You have it!
I need command linei forget the RPM commandline for installing...(I'm

Best to check with your ISP prior to running and IRC server on a client

or have them cancel your account as in most cases, they deem it as
illegal...
It won't be on 24/7. Maybe 30 minutes every month. I don't have re

If I put it on my XP2200 system, I imagine it'd be alot faster...

From what I can tell, unrealircd is a very comprehensive ircd written in

Its so comprehensive that I can't find the config file :-)

This is why I prefer rpms... I can always find out where everything got put
without reading code.

I used to be a longtime IRC user.. was a big fan of pirch.. but haven't used
it in years and never setup a server before..

I'd like to be able to use DCC, and the very basic irc facilities.. since
its only for work I don't need any of the extra's, but I'd like to learn.
