It's called smoke signals. It's supposed to read as follows:

How would I code that in binary on a Linux box? (staying on topic again)

Beer, NO. Footy Players, most definitely. We'll be sending better footy

Yes! and that was one of the conditions for sendin 'em.
RC1 is rumored to be the end of this week. Not a whole lot of change
from beta3, but some bug fixes. For those runnin beta3, I'd suggest
you search the bugzilla database and the cooker ML archives. You'll
not only probly find an answer or workaround, you also won't be, as
Ed says, filing duplicate bugs (ie, already reported).

'Course in the past when RC1 was rumored to be next, we got beta4
instead ;)

KDE 3.1 and GNOME 2.2.0 are on the 9.1b

Now I have even more reason to hate Gnome - it's been consistently
loosing it's old functionaltiy and ability to customise it. Sadly, I
will no longer bother with Gnome until either they resurrect the ideas
behind the 1.4.8 scheme, or start from scratch. It's slow, buggy,
impossible for a newbie to configure properly, impossible for a newbie
to even customise properly, and no matter what, it's gotten even more
bloated and less like the desktop that it once was.

KDE 3.1, on the other hand, is sweeter than a Georgia peach...really
appreciating the time and effort on that desktop - just can't figure out
where Gnome deviated so far from the original idea...

Ah well, now I'm a confirmed KDE person (with the exception of
Enlightenment and Fluxbox)...

Still a bit bummed out that my scanner and printer can't work with
it...(sniff)...

actually, i just like making an ISO of the .mp3 files, then burning to a
disk. it works great. the disk will play in an mp3 player as well as the
 cdrom in my computers.

ok, lame as it sounds: read the CD-Burning HOWTO, it explains everything you'll
need.

Short version: cdrecord (yes, the command-line tool to which X-CDroast is just a
frontend) accepts .wav files as input for audio-CD's too. It's also covered in
the cdrecord manpage.

I haven't tried burning audio CD's with X-CDroast yet, but are you sure it
doesn't accept .wav files as input? If not, perhaps you might want to give
krabber a try, I haven't tried that one either, but I've seen it has input
filters for .wav, .mp3 etc...

So you have the choice: do it the hard way with console cdrecord, or try and
figure out how the hell krabber works (coz it's a weird app, that one)...

YOU CAN USE THE CD-TOASTER PROGRAMS BUT YOU HAVE TO SET YOUR CD -R LIKE A
SCSI DISK SO LINUX CAN MAKE THE CD COPIES BECAUSE LINUX RECOGNIZE THE CD-R
LIKE A SCSI DEVICE NOT AN IDE ONE SO YOU HAVE TO RECOMPILE YOUR KERNEL TO
MAKE THAT SET.
