in a desperate attempt to get the card to work i decided to compile a new
kernel and now i'm ready to atke an axe to my box.
after running make xconfig and make dep i run make make bzImage, but, there
is no image file or vmlinuz produced as a result, i searced the whole disk
but couldn't find them - aaah!
please tell me that one can compile with 7.2, on second thoughts tell me one
can't then i'll know that the world isn't just out to get me!
i don't even know what question to ask now!

i have the above card in my box, under lm7 and 7.1 it worked fine but now
i've installed 7.2 i cannot get get the card to initialise, i have not
changed the cards internal settings (full duplex non pnp) i have entered
the io and irq in the linuxconfnetworkingnetwork devices section but
when i run ifup eth0 or when the machine boots the error message
'delaying eth0 initialisation' comes up, i'm sure the card is fine and i
have just missed out a simple step, but lms 7 and 7.1 were so simple
hardware wise that i'm not aware of what else i should be looking at,
what are the services needed to get the card working (as opposed to
actual network service like nfs etc.)
