[newbie] 8.2 Blackbox logout problem

2002-03-18 Per discussione Roger Sherman

I don't know if I should submit this as a bug report or not, but has
anyone else noticed that on the menu on blackbox (where you right click to
get a floating menu), it no longer has the Exit (logout) option at the
bottom? Now to get out of it, I have to Cntl-Alt-Backspace. Is there a
better way of doing this?

Per Mozilla vedi una lettera arrivata oggi su questa ML.

Per Netscape in generale, installa i true type fonts.
In drakxconf c'e` un tool che ti permette doi farlo molto
facilmente, anche succhiandoli da un'eventuale partizione win.

Ciao a tutti!
BlackBox, e qui, appena imparato a gestirlo adeguatamente (leggi: a

Grazie.

[newbie] Installing blackbox

2001-03-27 Per discussione bill jones

I'm sure there are loads on sources online to tell me how to do this, but i
can't find a one that works for me, for whatever reason.

I'm running Mandrake 7.2 with kernel 2.2.18 on a compaq LTE 5380 laptop.
I've got a pent133 with 80 meg of ram and a 2 gig hdd.

My problem is that KDE 2 that comes with mandrake 7.2 is so huge my ram is
almost all gone as soon as KDE loads up. So i want to try blackbox. I've
got it downloaded and extracted and all that fun stuff, and i've done all
the .configure things i could find to do.

but how do i set up X to load Blackbox instead of KDE?
i can't get it to load for the life of me.

If anyone has a link or howto or anything, i would appreciate it.

thanx

Yes, I did. Not exactly the answer I was looking for, apparently it is not

What I would want is something like

RaiseClickToFocus

it, like in KDE.

OK thanx im guessing you found any answers at bb.themes.org on Blackbox?

window raising as he want to do it (raising a window when he clicks
anywhere on it). And I would also be interrested in knowing how to do
it.

Yes! I think I got it.

session.screen0.focusModel
The default for this variable is SloppyFocus, and its valid values are
[SloppyFocus|ClickToFocus|AutoRaiseSloppyFocus].

This variable specifies the model for focusing on windows. SloppyFocus
puts the window pointed-to by the mouse cursor into focus, or makes it the
current window, without raising the window. ClickToFocus puts the window
clicked-on into focus and does not raise it. AutoRaiseSloppyFocus will
automatically raise the window pointed-to by the mouse cursor after
session.autoRaiseDelay milliseconds and put it into focus.

I located this at http://bb.themes.org/php/docs.phtml?docid=25secid=4.1

I dont really get what you mean...? Do you just mean to move the windows up
and down? because i do it by hitting alt+L i think it is or ctrl+L and then
moving the window, then i maximize it.

Hi Andy,

The problem I had, and still am working on, is this:

I see the bottom of a konsole window 'behind' my pine window. I want to
pull that konsole to the front, to have that 'over' the pine window.
So far I have found that in .blackboxrc I can set the focus mode to
'AutoRaiseSloppyFocus'. With that, I move the mouse over a window and it
is raised (pops to the front) automatically. I like that better than the
default "SloppyFocus", but I would like to know if there is something like
"RaiseOnClick". That is how I have KDE set up, and that way works best for
me. SloppyFocus only points the view to the window that the mouse is over,
but does not raise it until you click the title-bar, and that is not
always in sight.

I hope this brings things across more clear...

 Hi Paul.

I usually use Blackbox. I really like it!
But I never figured out how to configure its menus.
I didn't find any deep documentation on the official site or anywhere
 else.
I suppose it is just because I didn't search correctly...
I'm afraid I couldn't help you much in that matter. But I could install
 several bb applications (bb-pager, ...)

However, I currently use mdk 7.1 hydrogen, and the menu configuration
provided with it really fits me!
But I'm still wondering how to configure it!
If you (or anyone else) can help me, I'd be really glad.

 TIA
 Flupke
