I've had two bets to lessen the pain. Odds of $5 for us to finish last and
$1.60 for us to get relegated so if we go down I'll make enough money to drown
my sorrows. Come on Wolves! Make sure my betting money goes to waste PLEASE!!

Can’t be bothered making predictions – I’m about as good at that as Mick is at
team selection.

I will be very disappointed if we can’t scrape the points we need against the
also crap opposition we have left to face.

Death knell – I fancy three points against Brum.

I noted that Wolves were $1.61 to get relegated and thought about putting a
couple of hundred on that. At least then if they go down I've got some solace.

Here are my predictions for the last four games

Brum 0 Wolves 1

We score early (Foley) and then hold on for the rest of the 90 minutes.

Wolves 0 Albion 2

Wild scenes after the match including many injuries

Sunderland 0 Wolves 0

Noted by many as one of the worst games of the season

Wolves 0 Blackburn 0

Both sides need a draw to stay up because of other results going in our favour,
and we get it

We finish on 38 points, with Wigan, West Ham and Blackpool going down.

We survive by only scoring one more goal.

In some ways I'd be happier if that happened as it would show we are truly
rubbish and the team and management need to accept it and rebuild. I'd hate
to go down to a 93rd minute equaliser on the last day.

By the way everyone, had the scan yesterday and found we are having another
boy. I asked the missus if we would go again and she said if I wanted
another child I'd have to find antoher woman. So wonderful to have such an
understanding and open minded wife. I've been out the game for a few
years. Where should I start?

[NSWolves] Predictions

2009-07-13 Thread Marcus Chantry
Alright, the start of the new season is only 4 weeks away so it's time
we started thinking about predictions and the tipping comp.

First question - Is there going to be a tipping comp this year and if so
in what format and who is offering to run it?
Second question - for those of us that saw the team training and the
Perth Glory match over in Perth, what are your thoughts on the team, the
depth of the squad, strong/weak links in the team, likely finishing
position etc, etc.

I think we have got loads of enthusiasm in the team with all the young
lads raring to go and I think we have enough depth in most of the
positions. Whilst Iwelumo was never going to be a starter in the first
team, he did offer some height/strength and experience from the bench.
I think Vokes can make the step up but I would like to see us try and
get a target man on loan for a few months just in case.

The other area I think we need to improve is the centre of defence.
Whilst Bobo Balde looked commanding in the air, I'm not convinced he's
got the pace to keep up with premiership strikers, so even if we sign
him I reckon he's back up at best. Ideally I'd like to see us get
someone with pace & experience but maybe getting Mancienne on loan would
be a good option and hope that his speed/talent/potential will make up
for his lack of regular experience at Premiership level.

Finally, I reckon Thick Mick is a decent bloke on a personal level
particularly as he took time out to come to my hotel on Saturday morning
to receive a NSWolves shirt, but I'll still reserve judgement on his
tactical abilities until we start coming up against decent opposition.
