Hello Aditya,
for this reason I wrote updateConTeXt.sh
( http://pmrb.free.fr/work/OS/ConTeXt/updateConTeXt.sh ).
If you want to use it, you need to have your local files in a different
texmf tree (texmf-local for example and the ConTeXt tree in texmf-context).
Cheers, Peter

There is also tex/generic/xkeyval/xkeyval.tex (plain tex support), and
that is the one that is used while using tikz with context.

[NTG-context] Bibtex: empty reference and reference-title / -data

2007-03-01 Thread Henning Haeske
Hi,

maybe this is a stupid question, but I am "deadlocked" in this case.

In the text I always getting an empty reference «()» and the listOfReferences
has no title and looks also a little bit discontenting:

3 (2001). Leseverhalten in Deutschland im neuen Jahrtausend: Eine Studie der
Stiftung Lesen. Spiegel Verlag und Stiftungs Lesen, Mainz, Hamburg,
Deutschland

I would like to get following results:

A. Quellen

Stiftung Lesen (Hrsg.): Leseverhalten in Deutschland im neuen Jahrtausend:
Eine Studie der Stiftung Lesen aus: Schriftenreihe «Lesewelten», Band 3,
Stiftung Lesen und Spiegel Verlag, Mainz, Hamburg 2001

[NTG-context] style for section

2007-03-01 Thread Thomas A. Schmitz
Hi all,

this sounds easy, but I can't seem to find a solution. I want my
section headers to look like so:

1. April 4 Title of chapter

i.e. have the title right aligned. I thought this should be as simple as

\section{April 4 \hfill Title of chapter}

but alas, no, it's always flush left. Is there an obvious solution
I'm overlooking?

Thanks

TeX hangs because of a typo in the bbl file. Did you by chance edit
the bbl file manually? \volumne should be \volume (extra 'n').

These two problems are likely caused by that same error.

This is where it gets problematic. The 'Stiftung Lesen' does not appear
in the bbl file at all. But even if it would, the 'apa' style is not ok
for your use. I guess you need something closer to the 'num' style.

Good luck, Taco

The section title does not have more than one line. This looks ok, but
is quite ugly input:

   \section{April 4 \hfill Title of chapter\break}

But that could be hidden inside a deeptextcommand, of course

[NTG-context] spread box contents

2007-03-01 Thread Idris Samawi Hamid
Hi gang,

Taco's solution to Thomas' section question reminds me:

How can I evenly spread the contents of a box or column-row? In PlainTeX
there is

\hbox{Here\hfill is\hfill an\hfill evenly\hfill spread\hfill line.}

but there must be a better (read "ConTeXt-") way. I looked into this years
ago and may have found the answer; but I've forgotten it...

Best

Taco,

thanks! This made me experiment with my file again, and it turned out
there is some strange interference because I have defined a command
in \setuphead[section]. When I comment it out, I get the output I
want. I'll do some more experiments and will report back.

Thanks Peter and Ralf,

your were right... i misspelled volume. I changed that and the publicationlist
looks a little bit better. Sorry that I bothered you with that stupid
mistake. I also added a editior field. But the reference in the text is still
empty :-( How can I make this reference work?

Also the publicationlist is in English:

Stiftung Lesen, editor (2001). ... Number 3 in...

but I need it in German - I thought \mainlanguage[de] is enough. What else I
have to add?

And last but not least: How can I make the \setupheadtext[pubs=NeuerTitel]
work with \chapter (appendix) behavior?

Ciao, H.

OK, after some more experiments: it looks like I can't have a
command= AND a \hfill in my sections. I have something like

\setuphead
[section]
[command=\incrementSlideNumber,
 page=yes,
 ]

in my definition. If I comment the command= line out or put a \ in
front of the comma at the end, the section title looks the way I
want, but the command does (of course) not work any longer. If I have
the command, the \hfill is not honored. Strange, but I can live with it.

The keyword was added in September. It would be much better if that

[NTG-context] hyphenation, paragraphs

2007-03-01 Thread Jörg Hagmann
Hi all,

I have an appendix consisting of a long list of genetic defects,
containing e.g. a number, the name of a disease, and the enzymes
concerned. I tried to set that up as paragraphs:

\defineparagraphs
[mypar][n=3,before={\blank},after={\blank}]
\setupparagraphs
[mypar][1][width=.1\textwidth]
\setupparagraphs
[mypar][2][width=.3\textwidth]

and

\defineparagraphs
[Two][n=2,distance=0.5cm]   % tolerance= at this point? didn't
make a difference
\setupparagraphs
[Two][1][width=.3\textwidth] % tolerance= at this point? didn't
make a difference

2 pages of the outcome are shown on "www.ogbasel.ch/
appendix.pdf" (61KB). Do some words overlap, because ConTeXt doesn't
know where to hyphenate funny words? (But Doli-chol, not a common
word really, is hyphenated correctly). Or can it be corrected with
"tolerance"? (I couldn't).

Besides playing with tolerance, I tried:
1. Writing a hyphenation file containing: \hyphenation{Acyl-CoA-De-hy-
dro-ge-nase} etc., then:
\input FunnyHyphens.tex
\starttext
\input appendix
\stoptext
No effect.

2. Writing the unfamiliar words in the appendix with ||, |-|, or |\-|
where hyphens might be placed. The latter introduces brakes, but
without hyphens. the other two insert hyphens everywhere.

It seems that I misunderstood what I dug out of the archives. Could
somebody enlighten me? Thanks, Jörg.
