The problem is that xmltool apparently ("skip" certain portions ?) don't "recognise" or "retranscribe" a full path, i.e if a real path is root(K:\MESDOC\COURS\05-TEB~1\000_ZI~1)\01-at1-repres_graphic_gene\01-s8910-metre_infra\cours-ppes-metre-go-0506.pdf firefox answer that (//media/cdrom0)/cours-ppes-metre-go-0506.pdf. is unreachable .tex file for creating xmldir.xml : \useregime[il1] \enableregime[il1] \useencoding[ffr] \mainlanguage[fr] \executesystemcommand % {texmfstart xmltools --dir --recurse --root=K:/Mesdoc/cours/05-teb-0506/000_zip-tout --pattern={*.pdf,*.xls} --output=xmldir.xml} {texmfstart xmltools --dir --recurse --pattern=*.* --output=xmldir.xml} -- command for making pdf from xmldir.xml : texmfstart newtexexec.rb --autopdf --pdf --mode=colorscheme-red --xml --use=dir-01 --pdf xmldir.xml (I've tried also : texmfstart newtexexec.rb --autopdf --pdf --mode=colorscheme-red --root=K:/Mesdoc/cours/05-teb-0506/000_zip-tout --xml --use=dir-01 --pdf xmldir.xml : without success) -- TIA for any answer -- Olivier TURLIER CRP La Rouguière 101 Bd des Libérateurs 13367 MARSEILLE CEDEX 11 tel : (33) 04 91 18 56 00 ___ ntg-context mailing list ntg-context@ntg.nl http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context

"learning path" is an acronym I've found while using Dokeos elearning platform, as an equivalent to a course i guess. For creating a course/learning path you assemble differents documents in a l.p.. When the alumni/trainee reads this course, he will be able what he have to read next after the fisrt doc, and so on. I've made a graphic capture of the webpage for showing what elements are making a learning path in the Dokeos vision : list of doc allready readen, docs to read, progression bar, plus the breadcrumb trail; for lists of already learnt documents: you can make a list of chapters/sections/subsections somewhere on the page if you have enough place. If you would like to get the chapter/section/subsection name, you can get them with something like \getmarking[chapter] $>$ \getmarking[section] $>$ \getmarking[subsection] Perhaps some "if"s are missing to check if a section/subsection is defined, but someone else has to help you with it. i don't want to put so much stuff in the pdfs made wit Context(apart putting an A4 text on an A3 page!) because i keep a printable A4 format for my courses, even i there interaction in it, for screen usage. I'm not sure if I understood it properly, but if you need two different versions of your documents with the same content, but different layout, you can use modes (http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Modes). So i wish to have only vertical progression bars + percentage in the inner margin. s-pre-01 "original" style show a bottom interaction bar filled with pagenumbers drawn as little rectangles. Maybe it's possible to draw a continuous bar with metapost, but for percentage ? Ideally, i wish to have 2 progression bars : one for project progression and second for product prog. How would you calculate the project progression? The example below calculates the percentage out of the number of pages in the current document. Here's an example how to make an extremely simple and ugly progression bar at the bottom of the page. Take a look into the .mp file produced. You'll find many other variables thay you may use to position your progression bar properly. \defineoverlay [ProgressBar A] [\useMPgraphic{ProgressBarA}] \setupbackgrounds [text] [background={ProgressBar A}] \startuseMPgraphic{ProgressBarA} barW = 5cm; barH = .7cm; StartPage; fill unitsquare xyscaled(barW*(PageNumber/NOfPages),barH) withcolor .625red; draw unitsquare xyscaled(barW,barH); label.rt(textext("$" & decimal(round(100*PageNumber/NOfPages)) & "\,\%$"), (barW,.5barH)); currentpicture := currentpicture shifted (LeftMarginWidth+LeftMarginDistance,2cm); StopPage; \stopuseMPgraphic \starttext first page\page second page\page third page \stoptext I would suggest you to get familiar with metapost/metafun ("learning metapost by doing", "the metapost manual", "metafun manual", ...) if you aren't yet. It's a simple and great programming/drawing language and you can do amazing things with it. Mojca PS: just a note. Trying to execute the code written above under MikTeX (on the "old" ;) ConTeXt version, 2005.08.31) leads to distrous results and nothing worked as expected. It claims \loadfontfileoncetrue to be undefined command, it complains about file endings (it doesn't create .mpx files, so the label(textext ...) doesn't work) ... and so on. It may be that something is wrongly configured here, but I'm glad that I'm able to use the minimal ConTeXt distr. as an alternative when something fails under MikTeX. Hi Mojca, Thanks a lot for your mp code, I got what i want but rightnow, I don't know how to use it exactly, maybe as follows attached (try to display a general progression thru advancement of each courses, and show on the same "pane" (inner margin)), list of each chapters. Hi everybody, I wish to set up kind of a "learning path" (= "pedagogic" progression bar, like in http://www.dokeos.com/scorm_compliant_course_content.php) in the inner margin of documents issued of a project/product/component structure. Ideally, this learning path will look like 2 full bars with percentage indication, one for project, the other for product. I've seen progression spots in Hans'presentations, but far from able to reproduce them. I'm thinking that those indicators get their names "automatically", on each new component or product made under a same project, either via a variable mecanisme or another one I don't know yet. Graphically, the whole mecanism must stay in a light color to not overcome the content. Hi, I've felt into same pb's trying to compile s-pre-61.tex directly from it's original source. I've tried to run directly exampler script from its original (texmf\...)location by right cliking on it and choosing "run in ruby interpreter" , I see in a shell : exampler + program exampler exampler + version 1.0 ... exampler + listening at 127.0.0.1:8061 for one cycle Then I came back in Scite for testing one of the Context specific command like Show Documentation = texmfstart --file=showcase.pdf --program=context (no result) or launching (in Acrobat 6 pro) examplap.pdf : test one option (combine), the resulting pdf page gets alays : http://127.0.0.1:8061 invalid dialog No more ideas yet If you have time to test them, and like to play with those nice features, thanks for an advice. [NTG-context] educational quiz check-in boxes
Hi ConTeXers, Does anybody can show me a minimal but complete example of a quiz, using java, since I feel too old (big/wrong excuse!) for trying to understand javascript. My aim is to introduce a short auto-evaluation test after a theorical course + examples, in an interactive form (no server side storage of the results), in the way of acrotex package. I will share it (in french!), once working, on the the ConTeX ploned site. Thanks a lot. olivier Turlier ___ ntg-context mailing list [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context
[NTG-context] quiz
Hi ConteXers, Does somebody have done a quiz , like the ones found in "exerquiz " pdftex package (now bundled in "acrotex") from d.p. Story (info/exemples at http://melusine.eu.org/syracuse/acrotex/exemples/ (in french) or from the origin, in english at http://www.math.uakron.edu/~dpstory/acrotex.html) What interesting me a lot is the abilty for the reader to auto-evaluate himself. I wish to setup a whole course including theorical + exercises + auto evaluation, both (as possible) in screen and paper versions. Thanks for the tip. [NTG-context] figures in columns
Hello, After changing from one to two columns, the figures of my document are set to "undefined" by ConText. before : \placefigure [force] [fig:TC4936.pdf] {Moquettes nappées}{\externalfigure[TC4936.pdf][width=.7\textwidth]} after : ... \setupcolumns [n=2,tolerance=tolerant, distance=6mm, balance=yes] ... \startcolumns ... \placefigure [force] [fig:TC4936.pdf] {Moquettes nappées}{\externalfigure[TC4936.pdf][width=.7\columnwidth]} Is there is a special mecanism for placing figures in colums ?
