If you don't mind a java app, I have used crushFTP for a few clients. It supports all kinds of configurations and can be setup for ftp, sftp, https browser uploads, temp accounts where you embed user and password in the url, etc, etc. pretty cool stuff. bill Sam Cayze wrote: I've certainly thought about, my concerns: 1. Yeah, I was just there yesterday checking that out. Thanks for the info, I didn't see the pricing you listed. The one think that I like about AllardSoft is that you can host it yourself. The next thing I need to figure out is what defines a user/licensing. Most all incoming files will end up going to one resource mailbox, and 1 user sifts through those. However, there will be thousands of remote users sending us stuff. My 2 cents: Like the recommendations here, been looking to implement an FTP replacement system for quite a while. My NDR/Too Big errors are happening more and more lately with all the deliverables from our field techs. Accellion - A little to pricey for us. ZendTo - Looks great, but requires some very intricate configuration to get it going. Lots of un-branding to do since it was made for a University. AllardSoft - Demo-ing it right now, looks VERY promising and priced right! RE: File dropbox for an org
We use an in-house Accellion. I don't think I've setup an FTP account for 3 years now, the thing is an absolute godsend and just stops all those calls @ 5pm because someone needs to get something out urgently so they need an FTP account and then the recipients firewall/proxy policy blocks FTP etc. Allardsoft is very similar and might be worth a look. Personally we wouldn't use something like Dropbox because of the nature of the work we do and the audit trail etc. but I'm sure it would work if the data isn't sensitive and you're happy having it sat out there in the cloud.
