MS Forefront Endpoint Protection
Is anyone using MS Endpoint protection, I'm thinking about switching from ESET, for 325 users. RE: MS Forefront Endpoint Protection
We've rolled this out to probably 30-50K seats in the past 18 months or so across quite a few customers. It's gone well in each case and has generally saved a lot in terms of costs with customers who already have it as part of their licensing deal with MS. Re: MS Forefront Endpoint Protection
I'm using it here, but in a pretty limited scope for the time being. We're migrating from Novell to Windows AD, and we have SCCM setup in the new domain, along with about 30 or so servers, all with FEP installed. Client installation is extremely quick and painless, once the SCCM client gets installed. I've had a couple of issues with that phase, but nothing once that's done. I don't see where that option exists, either. I seem to remember a third option but I don't have a Forefront server available to me any more. Sorry I could not help more. I have contacted a couple but so far there are so few non-mil (deployment to a war zone is out for me) jobs out there in this area that even the best is having issues making money. I have had more contacts from out of state than in-state, but then there is more jobs out there in the west side of the country. MS Forefront
Is anybody here using MS Forefront in the enterprise, and if so, what do you think of it? My flamesuit is on, thanks. ~ Finally, powerful endpoint security that ISN'T a resource hog! ~ ~ http://www.sunbeltsoftware.com/Business/VIPRE-Enterprise/ ~
RE: ms forefront?
The Exchange piece of Forefront used to be Antigen prior to Microsoft acquiring it, so it a pretty well known product. It is definitely feasible to use Forefront for all of your anti-malware needs, but they don't all run from the same Forefront console if that is what you are looking for. Tim, thank you for that information, I'll read the docs and see what decision I make on the product. As for consoles, that's alright as well, just as others on this list, one console would be nice, but we all use multiple consoles. Just out of curiosity, from what I just briefly read, the exchange component is only for 2k7? Will it work on 2k3? RE: ms forefront?
The Exchange Server component, or the client component? We started migrating to Forefront Client Security here over the summer, replacing Symantec Anti Virus Corporate Edition. The price was right (MS pricing is very competitive in the education sector), and I liked the fact that FCS could be updated using the update infrastructure we already have in place (WSUS). We haven't run into any problems so far, and have put it on 240 of our ~2,000 workstations. I think Microsoft makes available the latest version of Antigen (v4 or something) if you have Exchange 2003. The new Forefront for Exchange brand applies to the product they sell for Ex2007 Cheers Ken From: Thomas Gonzalez [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] Sent: Friday, 8 February 2008 5:48 AM To: NT System Admin Issues Subject: RE: ms forefront?
