Lotus Notes sucks

http://lotusnotessucks.4t.com/

2009/9/9 richardmccl...@aspca.org

Greetings! We are a Lotus Notes shop...

For some reason, some folks posting here show up both in my NTSysAdmin
folder AND in my Junk mail folder. It is the same address, same message,
etc. If I delete them in one folder, then the copy in the other folder is
gone as well. If I read the posting in one folder, it is marked Read in
the other. (I've learned that if Richard Stovall, for example, shows in the
Junk mail folder, to NOT delete it until I've read it.)

I tried unblocking him, for example, but Notes informed me I would first
need to add him to my personal address book.

Anyone else see this bit of weirdness?

When did this start? I've been noticing that gmail is placing a lot of

started happening this week (I think, was out on vacation last week so I

It started months and months ago... It was only recently I noticed that
the same message was appearing in both the Junk box and the SysAdmin box,
and that deleting from one box deleted it from the other.

It's most consistant with The Other Richard, who is a valualble member of
this forum. His address is NOT Gmail. (Other members (like some named
Sherry) have Gmail addresses, and those come through properly.

That's not uncommon. Sunbelt has a very much deserved reputation as
a (past) spammer. While I believe Sunbelt has mended their ways,
people (and computers) have long memories. So their overall
reputation score is a lot closer to the tipping point. Random things
on the Internet might push them over the edge.

Plus, Sunbelt uses Lyris. I have no evidence that Lyris causes
problems with being mistaken for a spam source, but given everything
else Lyris screws up I pretty much expect it.

In the case of mailing lists, I configure a Gmail filter rule for
each list, and enable the option to never-send-to-spam.

Re: Weird Lotus Notes issue

2009-09-10 Thread Sherry Abercrombie
Yeah, but it's really been random. The GPO thread one message would go to
my inbox, and the next one would go to the spam folder, same thing on this
thread, some messages go to spam and some don't. This used to happen to me
very infrequently, but this week it's increased significantly.I really
didn't pay attention to it until Richard posted this, just made me wonder if
there was something else going on. Yeah, I did think about the
Sunbelt/Lyris spam issues of the past. I also have Gmail filters for these
lists that have the never send to spam option selected.

Welcome to the world of Lotus Notes :-)

What version of LN are you using?
I'm using 8.5 and I just right-click on an email in the junk folder and
select 'Unblock'.
There is also a Manage List option in the Junk mail view where you can
remove blocked addresses.

Not sure about earlier versions.

 Weird Lotus Notes issue

Greetings! We are a Lotus Notes shop...

For some reason, some folks posting here show up both in my
NTSysAdmin folder AND in my Junk mail folder. It is the same
address, same message, etc. If I delete them in one folder, then
the copy in the other folder is gone as well. If I read the posting
in one folder, it is marked Read in the other. (I've learned that
if Richard Stovall, for example, shows in the Junk mail folder, to
NOT delete it until I've read it.)

I tried unblocking him, for example, but Notes informed me I would
first need to add him to my personal address book.

Anyone else see this bit of weirdness?

Welcome to the world of Lotus Notes :-)

What version of LN are you using?
I'm using 8.5 and I just right-click on an email in the junk folder and
select 'Unblock'.
There is also a Manage List option in the Junk mail view where you can
remove blocked addresses.

Not sure about earlier versions.
