2011-07-21 Thread Crawford, Scott
I don't think Andrew's asking for a rundown of ISA/TMG features, but rather
which specific features you need. I don't think you'll find a 1 to 1
replacement for ISA/TMG from any one vendor.

TMG is most definitely NOT being developed anymore. There is no clear
statement as to their intentions, other than they are getting out of
that arena. UAG will remain, and a lot of people think that TMG will

We still use ISA 2006 and had been looking at Threat Management Gateway.

We have two sites, and do major service-bureau and specialized hosting

RE: With ISA / TMG going away...

2011-07-21 Thread Joseph Heaton
I posted a while back with a link from a Gartner report. In that report, there
was a quote from Microsoft stating that they would no longer be competing in
that arena. TMG will be maintained with the next Service Pack, and security
upgrades, in the normal maintenance period. 5 years of regular maintenance,
then 5 more of extended maintenance. So, if you're currently using TMG, or
have been looking at going to it, it will be supported for quite a while, so
don't be afraid to use it.

2011-07-20 Thread G.Waleed Kavalec
They are very vague on it, all that is certain is no upgrade path for TMG.

2011-07-20 Thread Crawford, Scott
Is this happening for sure? Are they rolling TMG into UAG? I'd hate to see the
whole product die.

Or into "no more upgrade" status, what would this list recommend as the path
forward for a small-to-medium sized shop?
