NODX dropped 7.1% year-on-year in August, following the 8.7% decrease in the previous month, mainly as a result of lower electronic and non-electronic NODX. The number of unemployed persons totaled 390,000 in the June to August period, larger than the 386,000 persons in the previous three months.

Selain keempatnya, ada satu yang diamankan hidup-hidup di Jakarta. Densus 88 mengorek informasi dari Bejo dan Kedu yang ditangkap sebelumnya di pasar Gading, Solo, Jawa Tengah. Dua orang ini memberikan petunjuk bahwa di salah satu tempat di Kahuripan, Solo, diduga ada beberapa orang pelaku teror yang ada di sana yang dikenal atau diketahui rumahnya Susilo alias Adib. Saat Tim Satgasus Mabes 88 mendobrak rumah tersebut, langsung disambut dengan berondongan tembakan. Meski sudah diminta untuk menyerahkan diri, mereka toh tetap memberondong dengan tembakan kembali, tegas Kepala Polri Jenderal (Pol) Bambang Hendarso Danuri, Kamis (17/9). Sesudahnya, terjadi tembak menembak. Sepeda motor yang tertembak akhirnya terbakar dan isi di dalam rumah menyelamatkan diri dalam kamar mandi. Subuh tadi, kami mengingatkan, tidak boleh ada yang merapat, tegas Hendarso. Dalam waktu yang cepat, mereka berhasil dibekuk dan diketahui bahwa mereka adalah orang-orang kunci dalam pengeboman di Indonesia. Pertama, Bagus Budi Pranoto alias Urwah, pelaku pengeboman Australia, yang bermain lagi untuk bom bunuh diri Jati Asih. Ia adalah ahli pembuat bom. Kedua, Hadi Susilo yang menyewa rumah. Ketiga, murid Azhari, yaiotu Ario Sudarso alias Aji. Keempat, korban tetapi selamat, adalah istri Susilo, yaitu Munaroh. Kelima, dari sidik jari kanan dan kiri yang dikirim Polis Diraja Malaysia, Ada 14 titik kesamaan yang bisa dipertanggungjawabkan secara yuridis-formal, identik dengan DPO 9 tahun dicari oleh Polri; adalah Noordin M Top, tandas Hendarso. Dalam penggerebekan itu, ditemukan senjata dan juga peluru dalam kantong Noordin. Selain itu, juga ditemukan 200 kg bahan peledak yang disiapkan dalam bentuk powder sekaligus laptop. Pemeriksaan DNA sudah kami lakukan, untuk melengkapinya; akan rampung 30 jam dan bisa dipertanggungjawabkan secara yuridis-formal, tegas Hendarso.

But the world's second largest package delivery company, considered a bellwether of economic health, said it does see signs of improvement in the economy. The Memphis, Tenn.-based company reported earnings of $181 million, or 58 cents per share, compared with $384 million, or $1.23 per share, a year ago. Revenue fell 20 percent to about $8 billion. Analysts predicted profit of 58 cents per share on revenue of $8.24 billion. The company said its sales are continuing to be hurt by the slow economy, as people ship slower and less often. Dear Elaine, I think you will just ignore my comment as I am also not god but here I am trying to share opinion: #1 If safety is your main concern, why don't put deposit on call in foreign bank account or money market mutual fund? Liquidity is preferred when you want to withdraw anytime #2 Currency wise, is not only related to trade balance but merely depend on capital inflow/outflow. True that we are negative trading with China but still positive against Japan, Eur US. USD also related as with lesser value, producer hesitate to sell to international market thence export will be shrinking. I read somewhere that USD index is about formulazing inverted H S on monthly chart (somebody can help to prove it, please?), thus IDR will be affected badly if it is true #3 I also read that the El Nino effect is not significan enough to lift plantation price but if India's inflation is affirmative then it is good news. Like as well, lately Eur already accept CPO import from Indonesia. But remember, export tax will disturb the export preference somehow. Hi Elaine, Sy mencoba berbagi pendapat: 1) Tentang SPN Dalam posisi untuk lindung nilai aset portofolio (di Indonesia), sebaiknya diversifikasi dalam gov bond (SPN) dan gold deposit dan investasi langsung pd sektor riil (toll road, properti). Mengapa? Saat ini bunga acuan bank sentral (BI rate) mulai memasuki fase mendatar, untuk mengantisipasi future expected inflation. Dampaknya: ruang gerak untuk kenaikan yield SPN akan melandai juga dlm bbrp bulan ke depan. Jadi, SPN tetap menarik namun dgn kenaikan yield terbatas (so, Elaine must be ready to gradually diversified). Diversifikasi kpd sektor infrastruktur imho menarik, karena bunga pinjaman bank dalam fase menurun (ada time lag dari BI rate). Sektor yg menarik imho infrastruktur or property or plantation (karena riil asetnya besar dan tidak akan menurun nilainya, so it's a natural hedge). Sebagian diversifikasi pada gold (jangan coba2 spekulasi oil ya, kalau naik bikin susah semua, hiks). 2) Tentang currency (IDR value) Pada dasarnya tergantung demand dan supply, bukan haha? Sekali timpuk.. dobel2 tu.. dapet coupon rate yg relatif tinggi trus klu nanti di konversi ke USD dapet banyak hehehe.. Palagi asset jenis stock dach di-cair-in en skrg di-switch ke bonds (hierarki aman lebih tinggi) yak.. mantep.. mantep.. tinggal nanti mungutin USD bbrp bulan ke depan.. hihihi.. #2.
