Thank you Arul and Gino for the response.

I've updated the `deploy_vm1.sh` for `data-router` docker image and pushed the
patch [1].

Hey Subash,
The docker image names is wrong for sparky; I will create a PR to fix that. The
version is right value in the scripts but I did notice that it is not available
in the nexus3 repo. I am looking into it. In the meantime to unblock you can
you change the scripts to
docker pull ${DOCKER_REGISTRY}/openecomp/sparky-be:1.1-STAGING-latest;
docker tag $DOCKER_REGISTRY/openecomp/sparky-be:1.1-STAGING-latest
$DOCKER_REGISTRY/openecomp/sparky-be:latest;

For the Data Router microservice, the artifact name is data-router, not
datarouter-service.

Hope this is helpful...

Fixing integration_preload_parameter.py for multiple VNFs won't be straight forward thing, but in the mean time we can at least fix the integration_robot_properties.py to not use harcoded values. When I deployed ONAP with a different network cidr for private
 net, the robot vm was the only place where I had to fix value, other than there were no hardcoded values in the stack. I'll try to send in a patch to avoid hardcoded values as is done in dns-server vm later today.

The preload values for the demo VFW originate from the following section of the integration_preload_parameters.py.

 # heat template parameter values for heat template instances created for hands on demo test case
   "Demo" : {
        "vfw_preload.template": {
             "unprotected_private_net_id" : "demofwl_unprotected",
            "unprotected_private_net_cidr" : "192.168.110.0/24",
             "protected_private_net_id" : "demofwl_protected",
            "protected_private_net_cidr" : "192.168.120.0/24",
            "vfw_private_ip_0" : "192.168.110.100",
            "vfw_private_ip_1" : "192.168.120.100",
            "vfw_private_ip_2" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.11",
            "vpg_private_ip_0" : "192.168.110.200",
            "vpg_private_ip_1" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.12",
            "vsn_private_ip_0" : "192.168.120.250",
            "vsn_private_ip_1" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.13",
             'vfw_name_0':'demofwl01fwl',
            'vpg_name_0':'demofwl01pgn',
            'vsn_name_0':'demofwl01snk',

The values here were not intended to support more than 1 simultaneous instance of the demo vFW. Changing network ids
  and host names  (in red) should enable simultaneous instantiations.

Note that the automated ETE configurations use a dynamically generated ${hostid} to uniquely identify network ids  and
 host names (in red) to enable simultaneous instantiations. This pattern may be used for the
 “Demo” section as well

# heat template parameter values for heat template instances created during Vnf-Orchestration test cases
    "Vnf-Orchestration" : {
    "vfw_preload.template": {
    "unprotected_private_net_id" : "vofwl01_unprotected${hostid}",
    "unprotected_private_net_cidr" : "192.168.10.0/24",
   "protected_private_net_id" : "vofwl01_protected${hostid}",
    "protected_private_net_cidr" : "192.168.20.0/24",
    "vfw_private_ip_0" : "192.168.10.100",
    "vfw_private_ip_1" : "192.168.20.100",
    "vfw_private_ip_2" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.1",
    "vpg_private_ip_0" : "192.168.10.200",
    "vpg_private_ip_1" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.2",
    "vsn_private_ip_0" : "192.168.20.250",
    "vsn_private_ip_1" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.3",
    'vfw_name_0':'vofwl01fwl${hostid}',
    'vpg_name_0':'vofwl01pgn${hostid}',
    'vsn_name_0':'vofwl01snk${hostid}',
    },

A note about the ${ecompnet} parameter. This is  GLOBAL_BUILD_NUMBER%255
 (-v GLOBAL_BUILD_NUMBER:1928 from the example below). These IPs are part of the ONAP OAM network defined by the ONAP heat template (subnet 10.0.0.0/8). Use of ${ecompnet}  minimizes the potential for conflict on these network resources.

For complete control of preload values, you can modify the network ids, host names and ${ecompnet}  in the “Demo” section for each instantiation  or
 you can update the “Demo” section to follow the “Vnf-Orchestration” pattern using ${hostid} and ${ecompnet} to enable simultaneous instantiations with

Fixing integration_preload_parameter.py for multiple VNFs won't be straight
forward thing, but in the mean time we can at least fix the
integration_robot_properties.py to not use harcoded values. When I deployed
ONAP with a different network cidr for private net, the robot vm was the only
place where I had to fix value, other than there were no hardcoded values in
the stack. I'll try to send in a patch to avoid hardcoded values as is done in
dns-server vm later today.

The preload values for the demo VFW originate from the following section of the
integration_preload_parameters.py.

# heat template parameter values for heat template instances created for hands
on demo test case
  "Demo" : {
   "vfw_preload.template": {
   "unprotected_private_net_id" : "demofwl_unprotected",
   "unprotected_private_net_cidr" : "192.168.110.0/24",
   "protected_private_net_id" : "demofwl_protected",
   "protected_private_net_cidr" : "192.168.120.0/24",
   "vfw_private_ip_0" : "192.168.110.100",
   "vfw_private_ip_1" : "192.168.120.100",
   "vfw_private_ip_2" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.11",
   "vpg_private_ip_0" : "192.168.110.200",
   "vpg_private_ip_1" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.12",
   "vsn_private_ip_0" : "192.168.120.250",
   "vsn_private_ip_1" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.13",
   'vfw_name_0':'demofwl01fwl',
   'vpg_name_0':'demofwl01pgn',
   'vsn_name_0':'demofwl01snk',

The values here were not intended to support more than 1 simultaneous instance
of the demo vFW. Changing network ids and host names (in red) should enable
simultaneous instantiations.

Note that the automated ETE configurations use a dynamically generated
${hostid} to uniquely identify network ids and host names (in red) to enable
simultaneous instantiations. This pattern may be used for the “Demo” section as
well

# heat template parameter values for heat template instances created during
Vnf-Orchestration test cases
"Vnf-Orchestration" : {
"vfw_preload.template": {
"unprotected_private_net_id" : "vofwl01_unprotected${hostid}",
"unprotected_private_net_cidr" : "192.168.10.0/24",
   "protected_private_net_id" : "vofwl01_protected${hostid}",
"protected_private_net_cidr" : "192.168.20.0/24",
"vfw_private_ip_0" : "192.168.10.100",
"vfw_private_ip_1" : "192.168.20.100",
"vfw_private_ip_2" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.1",
"vpg_private_ip_0" : "192.168.10.200",
"vpg_private_ip_1" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.2",
"vsn_private_ip_0" : "192.168.20.250",
"vsn_private_ip_1" : "10.1.${ecompnet}.3",
'vfw_name_0':'vofwl01fwl${hostid}',
'vpg_name_0':'vofwl01pgn${hostid}',
'vsn_name_0':'vofwl01snk${hostid}',
},

A note about the ${ecompnet} parameter. This is GLOBAL_BUILD_NUMBER%255 (-v
GLOBAL_BUILD_NUMBER:1928 from the example below). These IPs are part of the
ONAP OAM network defined by the ONAP heat template (subnet 10.0.0.0/8). Use of
${ecompnet} minimizes the potential for conflict on these network resources.

For complete control of preload values, you can modify the network ids, host
names and ${ecompnet} in the “Demo” section for each instantiation or you can
update the “Demo” section to follow the “Vnf-Orchestration” pattern using
${hostid} and ${ecompnet} to enable simultaneous instantiations with generated
host and network ids.

Later
Jerry

2017-06-29 Thread ROSE, DANIEL V
Viswa,
I remember this was discussed at the may f2f (and im sure elsewhere) and the
concensus was made that one list means there is less cross posting.

The way to filter if you personally care about only a few topics is to log into
mailman and select the topics you care about (each approved project has at
least 1 topic). The link for onap discuss is
https://lists.onap.org/mailman/options/onap-discuss and then Which topic
categories would you like to subscribe to?

If you still feel you want to request the change please proceed.

Dear All,

I'm not sure if this has been already discussed, but I feel kinda difficult
follow onap-discuss / onap-tsc mailng list. I feel there is too much traffic
since same mailing list is being used for all component discussion and I often
miss to notify updates from desired components.

Hence I would like to propose to have separate mailing list for each component
established first and have the relevant discussions ( include ptl nomimations,

Just my 2 cents.

Hello Subhash,

There are a few errors in the ONAP stack deployment for what regards the
parameters you set.

The Heat env file should contain:

  artifacts_version: 1.1.0-SNAPSHOT
  docker_version: 1.1-STAGING-latest
  gerrit_branch: master
  cloud_env: openstack
  dcae_base_environment: 1-NIC-FLOATING-IPS
  gitlab_branch: master
  dcae_code_version: 1.1.0

You are trying to install DCAE release-1.0.0, which doesn’t work in vanilla
OpenStack. The configuration above will install DCAE 1.1.0

Also, I’m not sure whether 192.168.X.Y works as floating IP set. Those should
be externally reachable.

[onap-discuss] Is there a way to confirm correct spin-up of vFW stack

I have spun up a stack in Openstack Ocata containing the three VMs for the
firewall demo. I am able to connect to http://:667/ and can see
some graphics. But there is no traffic at all. I can see in pgn & fwl that
there is some VPN setup with vpp.. but I cannot see any real traffic on

Hi Jimmy,

Congradulations! I believe you will be a great PTL for our team ☺.

I noticed that there is an A weekly meeting start at 1:00PM and the TSC
weekly meeting will start from 2:00PM. Generally, there is no conflict in time
of the two meetings. But I also found that this thursday the Kenny has adjust
the TSC meeting time and it will start 1/2 HOUR EARLIER. The ESR will be
reviewed at this meeting, maybe the scope of ESR will be discussed. Since, we
reached an agreement that ESR would be a subproject of A, I gentally hope
you would to join this TSC meeting too. So, can you adjust the A weekly
meeting half an hour earlier OR can we finish this A meeting half an hour
earlier? just for the special day. here you can check the TSC meeting agenda
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/TSC+Meeting+Resources
 .

Also, after the clarification about the scope of ESR at 29th TSC meeting. I
will add the ESR release planning in A release planning page before the
Release Review meeting on Friday. For the operation between Project and
subproject, I suggest we have a further discussion after the TSC meeting. Since
once I worked for Open-O, I'd like to introduce you about the operation between
Project and sub-project in Open-O( if needed).

Thanks,

LiZi

Re: [onap-discuss] DCAE Health-Check is failing

2017-06-29 Thread Subhash Kumar Singh
Hello Marco,

We are not able to see the additional 5 VMs created by the DCAE.

I have configured “/opt/app/dcae-controller/config.yaml” file with correct
properties ( OPENSTACK-TENANT-ID, TENANT-NAME, PRIVATE-NETWORK, public_net_id ).

I tried to execute
“/opt/app/dcae-controller-platform-server/bin/controller-startup.sh” manually,
as per my understating this script is responsible for the creating the new VMs.
But I am seeing error messages [1] on executing the script.

Could you please help us to understand this issue.

Subash,

DCAE takes longer to install. The DCAE controller spins up 5 additional VMs off
the Heat template. This takes about 25 minutes, plus configuration time.
Overall, please allow about one hour before running health checks. The VMs may
be ready but still getting configured (the Hadoop/CDAP cluster takes the
longest).

Regarding point 3) that you mention, those floating IPs will be used by the 5
additional VMs that DCAE controller spins up. If they are not in use, it’s
likely that those VMs haven’t been created yet.

Thanks,
Marco

Hello Everyone,

We are trying run the robot test case (ete.sh) to test the health status of

So, following are the questions that we would like to ask:

1] We observed that in created docker instance
(dcaestartupvmcontroller_dcae-controller_1) hosts file is not reflecting
correct hostname and IP mapping as provided in the heat template.

2] In the hosts file we are observing one more host entry :

172.18.0.2  c52bfc0fba28

could you please let us know which host/service it is referring, as we are
seeing the error message around this IP:

3] Could you please let us know the use of five extra assigned IP's to the

Hello everyone,

I see we are settling on 7/5 as the date for the meeting, which is good.
I am trying to confirm CDP-PAL attendance for the call (Varun Gudisena, cc’d
here) . He is out of office this Thurs & Friday with limited availability, so
next week works best.

To nail down agenda then, we can start with high level view of what MutiVIM is
proposing as an architecture to level set, and then focus on CDP-PAL, and then
look closer into APPC flows.
We may not fit this all into one meeting, but that give us a plan. Does that
work for folks?

Thanks, Randa

+ Randa We once discussed last night about multi VM/Cloud dependency. Add her
to keep everyone in the same page.

By this meeting, we hope an introduction from APP-C key members about close
loop, restart VM flow, CDP-PAL, and so on to ensure we share same knowledge
background for reasonable interface design.

The time works well.

Hi, LiZi,

We’ll end the kick off @ 13:30 UTC in order to accommodate the special TSC
session. Since the fuse on our release planning template is so short, I’m
going to request another meeting @ 15:00 UTC (11AM US/Eastern) today for a
working session to add additional content to the template expand on the epics
and stories I have been writing.

@Kenny and @Casey, A is requesting a one-time session at 15:00 UTC.

Thanks,

jimmy

Hi Jimmy,

Congradulations! I believe you will be a great PTL for our team J.

So, can you adjust the A weekly
meeting half an hour earlier OR can we finish this A meeting half an hour
earlier? just for the special day. here you can check the TSC meeting agenda
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/TSC+Meeting+Resources .

Also, after the clarification about the scope of ESR at 29th TSC meeting. I
will add the ESR release planning in A release planning page before the
Release Review meeting on Friday. For the operation between Project and
subproject, I suggest we have a further discussion after the TSC meeting.
Since once I worked for Open-O, I'd like to introduce you about the operation
between Project and sub-project in Open-O( if needed).

Thanks,

LiZi

Re: [onap-discuss] MSO code flow to OpenStack for Orchestration

2017-06-29 Thread Gaurav Gupta (c)
Hi Rob , Daniel

To futher investigate and difference between createNetwork and
createNetworkContrail .

We have come to an understanding that based on orchestration Mode whether to
use createNetwork/createNetworkContrail is used .

Incase of the Orchestration Mode Heat CreateNetworkContrail is used

in case of Orchestration Mode neutron createNetwork is used .

is this understanding correct  ?.

with best regards

gaurav

Hi Rob,

Yes, I also understand that the OpenStack APIs are called from Network/VNF
adapter.

However, we are still working on the code flow understanding from Network/VNF
adapter to above. As you mentioned BPMN calls Network/VNF adapter to do the
operations, we now will work on BPMN and above to complete our understanding.

Best Regards,

Arun

Arun,

Just confirming what said: OpenStack APIs are called directly from the MSO
Network/VNF adapter. The BPMN flow makes calls to the adapter to perform those
operations.

I believe that flow of calls is correct with the exception of I don’t think
they call the contrail method all the time. The bpmn flow either creates a
vanilla neutron network or a contrail neutron newwork, I think you have both in
one flow. Adding in a MultiVIM layer is one of the R1 goals, and right now
there is only direct calls to openstack.

That said someone like Rob Daugherty can give you a better understanding of the
code if you have more specific qustions

Hi Daniel,

Thanks for the quick response :)

We will check and get back if we have any further queries.

Apart from this, is the code flow from Network/ VNF adapter to OpenStack is
correct as mentioned below?

Also, we concluded that there is no Intermediate layer between MSO and
OpenStack API calls i.e. OpenStack APIs are called directly from Network/ VNF
adapter. Can you confirm my this understanding as well?

Arun Arora

Those methods are called from the BPMN workflows that run on the camunda engine.

Thank you Josef and Michale for the response.

Now I am able to execute "demo.sh init" successfully. But still I am not able
to see the subscriber in VID portal, at the same time I can see service catalog
(with service demoVFW and demoVLB).

Could someone please help me to understand why portal is not reflecting
subscriber populated by demo.sh script.

Subhash,

I had the same observation with new "new" HEAT template which uses 2 AAI VMs.
reverting back to the previous HEAT template (with one VM for AAI) has solved
this issue for me.
Btw, running demo.sh init second time creates an error (I believe this is also
discussed in this mailing list in the last week or the week before the last)

Subhash,
  HI, just an observation - you may want to run demo.sh init (as it runs both
./demo.sh init_customer and ./demo.sh distribute) - you may be missing the
models.
  See the recommended demo call here

Hello Everyone,

We made some progress now all the service health-test-cases are passing except
DCAE.

Further, we tried to execute the robot test cases (demo.sh init_customer) to
populate the customers
after updating the keystone_get_auth.template [1] . We Observed that test cases
are passed but we
are not able to see the subscriber in the VID portal.

Please let us know if we are missing some steps in execution of demo script.

Following are the logs from robot execution :
