[onap-discuss] [integration] some question aount vcpe use case

2018-07-25 Thread Liu Chenglong
Hi, Kang and Brian:
There are some question about vCPE use case:
 1. Each time the BRG is created, a record is added to the DHCP_MAP table
in the sdnc database. But when a BRG instance is deleted, and the table don’t
delete the corresponding value. Is there any new solution?

 2. When creating multiple vxlan, we need to create multiple vgw, according
to the https://jira.onap.org/browse/TEST-104 method given by Brian, modify the
parameters on the vdns and restart kea-dhcp4-server again. But when we try to
create vgw instance again, and It’s also make the mistake that the IP address
is occupied. Please give us some help about this error.

 3. There is no portal can view and check these VF instances of vbrg, vgw,
vbng, vgmux, vdns, vdhcp, vweb, that be generated by vcpe use case on ONAP,
that can only be found and check on openstack. Similarly, network instances
can not be found on ONAP, and can only be view and check on openstack.

[onap-discuss] Problem with AAI and haproxy

2018-07-25 Thread Lukasz Rajewski
Hi,

we install ONAP Beijing from beijing repo with OOM on Rancher. After
installation it seems that AAI is not working properly. On one of the
nodes/worksers that AAI is installed on we observe following output in the
node's console in the time when ONAP is being installed:

haproxy[30007]: backend IST_AAI_8446 has no server available!

When we get inside main AAI pod haproxy is running but only 8080 and 8443 are
listening. Have you encountered such problem and do you know how to solve it?

[onap-discuss][SO] How it works (to be completed)

2018-07-25 Thread Rene Robert
Hello all,

In order to enhance ONAP documentation, I propose you to complete with me that
short description around SO and Workflow

What happens when ONAP SDC is distributing service model to ONAP SO ?

Informations are updated in the SO MariaDB database called "mso_catalog", and
especially in the table called "service"

A new entry is inserted in that table for fields :

MODEL_UUID (= UUID in SDC or Tosca file),

MODEL_NAME (= name in SDC or Tosca file),

MODEL_INVARIANT_UUID (= invariantUUID in SDC or Tosca file)

SERVICE_CATEGORY (= category in SDC or Tosca file)

in the SO MariaDB database called "mso_catalog", there is also a table called
"service_recipe" but that table is not modified by SDC distribution process.

What happens when trying to create or delete a service instance based on a
service model ?

SO provides two northbound Rest API :

The "serviceInstances" API :

http://mso.api.simpledemo.onap.org:8080/ecomp/mso/infra/serviceInstances/v6

This API is used by VID and NBI components

The "e2eServiceInstances" API :

http://mso.api.simpledemo.onap.org:8080/ecomp/mso/infra/e2eServiceInstances/v3

This API is used by UUI component but seems dedicated to voLTE usecase (some
hard coding values...)

When SO receive the Rest API message, the API Handler (an SO module) will check
in the SO MariaDB, in the database called "mso_catalog" and in the table called
"service_recipe" if there is an entry that match the serviceModelUUID contained
in the request body (= UUID coming from SDC or TOSCA file).

If there is an entry, then, the URI of the Orchestration BPMN is indicated in
the table.

If no entry, then, the default Orchestration BPMN URI is selected.

Default Orchestration BPMN URI is different if using "serviceInstances" API or
"e2eServiceInstances" API.

For a POST for a "serviceInstances" API, the default BPMN URI is :
/mso/async/services/CreateGenericALaCarteServiceInstance

For a POST for a "e2eServiceInstances" API , the default BPMN URI is :
/mso/async/services/CreateCustomE2EServiceInstance

TO BE COMPLETED : interactions between API Handler and Camunda engine to
effectively launch the BPMN ? see
mso-api-handlers/mso-api-handler-infra/src/main/java/org/openecomp/mso/apihandlerinfra/ServiceInstances.java

What to do if I want to use a specific BPMN for a service ?

Analysing the ONAP vCPE use-case, it can be noticed that a new entry is
inserted, by an init script, in the "service_recipe" table with the vCPE
service UUID and the specific BPMN URI :
/mso/async/services/CreateVcpeResCustService

How to add a new BPMN for a service ?

All BPMN are already present in the SO when installing ONAP.

BPMN are part of the source code. Even for vCPE use-case, the BPMNs are in the
SO source code.

Not sure that it is possible to upload a new BPMN in a running SO without
building a new jar/war file of the entire SO module, and rebuilding the docker
container.

Subject: resource limit for policy

Hi Pamela
I was working on the OOM task
https://jira.onap.org/browse/OOM-1145
 subtask
https://jira.onap.org/browse/OOM-1158

This is related to ensure sufficient computer resources to effectively use each
of the ONAP components a "resources:" section needs to be added to the
values.yaml file(s) of each ONAP project. Here is an example:

resources:
  limits:
cpu: 1
memory: 1.2Gi
  requests:
cpu: 10m
memory: 800Mi

Should insufficient resources exist in the cluster, K8s will wait for compute
resources to be added to the cluster and not schedule containers to run on
overloaded nodes.

So I wanted your help on the resource limit for the policy component an how can
we test the component on the load

Is there any way to simulate it ??

Hi, Kang and Brian:
There are some question about vCPE use case:
 1. Each time the BRG is created, a record is added to the DHCP_MAP table
in the sdnc database. But when a BRG instance is deleted, and the table don’t
delete the corresponding value. Is there any new solution?
[Kang] Unfortunately we don’t yet have code to automate deletion. So it has to
be done manually.

[Kang] I did see a similar problem but maybe Brian can help on this.

[Kang] If you want to get the instance UUID, AAI holds all such info. You can
use postman to query. Note that AAI does not hold the IP addresses. For IP
addresses, Openstack is the only place to get such info.

Re: [onap-discuss] [integration] some question aount vcpe use case

2018-07-25 Thread Brian

For the duplicate IP problem with multiple vGWs the issue is the vGW heat
template mistakenly is trying to set that IP and it isnt in the preload from
SDNC since its DHCP based. Neutron is rejecting the second vGW (the first is
okay) not because of real duplicate (vpp ignores that part of the base config
and does a DHCP discover) but parameter duplicate into the neutron heat api

See this fix

Subject: [onap-discuss] [integration] some question aount vcpe use case

Hi, Kang and Brian:
There are some question about vCPE use case:
 1. Each time the BRG is created, a record is added to the DHCP_MAP table
in the sdnc database. But when a BRG instance is deleted, and the table don’t
delete the corresponding value. Is there any new solution?
[Kang] Unfortunately we don’t yet have code to automate deletion. So it has to
be done manually.

 2. When creating multiple vxlan, we need to create multiple vgw, according
to the
https://jira.onap.org/browse/TEST-104
method given by Brian, modify the parameters on the vdns and restart
kea-dhcp4-server again. But when we try to create vgw instance again, and It’s
also make the mistake that the IP address is occupied. Please give us some help
about this error.
[Kang] I did see a similar problem but maybe Brian can help on this.

[Kang] If you want to get the instance UUID, AAI holds all such info. You can
use postman to query. Note that AAI does not hold the IP addresses. For IP
addresses, Openstack is the only place to get such info.

We can continue brainstorming ideas here on the mailing list rather than
waiting for next week's meeting. In general it's a good idea to use email
more for discussion, as it encourages more visibility and participation.

Re: [onap-discuss] [policy] Re: resource limit for policy

2018-07-25 Thread Jorge Hernandez
Hi Vaibhav,

We have to do some work to come up with good numbers to provide you for that
section. We can exchange info through your assigned ticket below.
We recently started to do some performance testing in k8s environments, so you
may be able to use some of our tooling or lab set ups.
On policy side we have to revisit engineered numbers from the JVM resource
allocation to the container level, considering the kubernetes scale out
capabilities go provide additional resources over a minimum agreed upon
configuration.

Hi Pamela
I was working on the OOM task
https://jira.onap.org/browse/OOM-1145
 subtask
https://jira.onap.org/browse/OOM-1158

This is related to ensure sufficient computer resources to effectively use each
of the ONAP components a "resources:" section needs to be added to the
values.yaml file(s) of each ONAP project. Here is an example:

resources:
  limits:
cpu: 1
memory: 1.2Gi
  requests:
cpu: 10m
memory: 800Mi

Should insufficient resources exist in the cluster, K8s will wait for compute
resources to be added to the cluster and not schedule containers to run on
overloaded nodes.

So I wanted your help on the resource limit for the policy component an how can
we test the component on the load

Is there any way to simulate it ??

[onap-discuss] [oom] Geo-redundancy knowledge transfer

2018-07-25 Thread Mike Elliott
At today’s OOM meeting, a question was asked on what plans OOM has to help
support geo-redundancy in ONAP. More specifically, what are the plans within
the Casablanca release. The focus in this release is really on stability of a
single ONAP deployment. However, there is some work being done towards enabling
a level of geo capabilities using OOM. See
OOM-1229 and
OOM-1231.

Understandably, OOM on its own is not capable of addressing all ONAP
geo-redundancy requirements. Application development will certainly be
necessary. This email is to invite those who wish to start discussing and
shaping geo-redundancy in ONAP and as a transfer of knowledge based on
experiences.

I have setup a zoom meeting for tomorrow (July 26th) at 3PM EST. It’s a

can make it.

[onap-discuss] Moving Portal CSIT screen capture functional tests into "testsuite" repo

2018-07-25 Thread Manoop Talasila
Hi,

The Portal team is moving Portal CSIT screen capture functional tests into
"testsuite" repo. After a brief discussion with integration team, we all agreed
to add all existing Portal’s CSIT screen capture functional test cases (36
tests) under testsuite
repo to execute them with
external lab Jenkins jobs where entire ONAP components are deployed and
verified (https://jenkins.onap.org/view/External%20Labs/).

The main reason to move these tests is due to the maintenance issues that we
have faced in past two releases to bringing up the entire dependencies and
mocking the services in such Jenkins runtime environment to successfully
execute all the Portal functional tests.

Thanks Gary, Sireesh and Sunder for your time in supporting this activity.

[onap-discuss] How to record cross-domain logical-link in AAI for CCVPN usecase? #aai

2018-07-25 Thread Keong Lim
Hi Architecture sub-com,

Referring to AAI meeting notes:
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/2018-07-25+AAI+Weekly+Meeting+Notes
And Figure 5 and 6 from
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/AAI-CCVPN+Schema+Proposal+for+Casablanca+Release

The CCVPN use case involves two separate ONAP domains (e.g. one for CMCC and
the other for VDF), with the end-to-end service connecting the two networks
together (see Figure 5 from link above).

In the middle of this service, we propose to represent the inter-network
connection as "logical-link" object between two "p-interface" objects.

In this use case, however, one "p-interface" object is in the CMCC ONAP domain
and the other "p-interface" object is in the VDF ONAP domain. The
"logical-link" object needs to span both ONAP domains.

Questions:

- Is there an existing/preferred architectural pattern or design pattern for
how to record this situation in AAI?

- Is there a protocol for federating the AAI data from two different ONAP
domains? The AAI meeting briefly discussed how the new "enricher" component
should work in Casablanca.

We have made a tentative proposal shown in Figure 6 from the link above,
whereby:

- a "foreign-object" is recorded in AAI for each ONAP domain, e.g. to represent
the other "p-interface"
- some "ESR info" is attached to the "foreign-object" pointing to the other
ONAP domain as the "source of truth" for that object
- the "foreign-object" may cache some of the properties sourced from the other
ONAP domain
- both ONAP domains have AAI data pointing to each other in mirror-image fashion

We are seeking review comments and guidance on how best to proceed with
recording this cross-domain data into AAI in both ONAP domains.

Thanks,
Keong
