Hi Bin,
I think it’s better to use a new repository to host HPA telemetry, since the
broker are written in python and we need to consider the performance. If
massing broker with telemetry, massive telemetries might downgrade the broker’s
performance.

Thanks Bin. Let us know if everybody is okay to use framework repository or
provide suggestions.

HPA telemetry is part of HPA umbrella and Alex presented to various committees
for R3 additions. Dileep is working on A&AI schema changes and related changes
needed in OOF. But in these architecture/use-case meetings, we don’t get into
the details of repositories in each project and hence that part was not
discussed. In both A&AI and OOF, no need to create any repositories. I hope
that we don’t need to create any repository here too. My view is that
framework repo seems to be generic and since HPA telemetry is also generic,
related software can be placed there. Let us know.

It’s some example:

Could you try the following url? (That site was set privately, not from LF)

And from there, try the console output directly.

Or you could go to the real hosted site, those are from open labs, to find

[onap-discuss] Regarding tag in the project's pom.xml

2018-09-05 Thread Jessica Wagantall
Dear ONAP teams,

This is a small reminder that the tag in the pom.xml for your
projects needs
to match the name of the repo. This tag helps writing the correct name in
the Sonar report.

Changing this name multiple times will cause Sonar to have old entries in
the reports and
we have to manually remove them.

Let's please make sure these are matching the names. For example:
https://gerrit.onap.org/r/#/c/64887/

Thanks so much!

I tried to install again after another “helm delete –purge,” but there were a
lot of residual components left after the failed earlier installation and then
the delete. I went into an etcd container and deleted all of the related
entries and tried again, but got that same error.

I’ll revert to Beijing for the time being.

I tried again to do a complete installation. I checked out the master branch
and did a pull to update and then entered:

sudo helm delete --purge development (the name I had used)

There were some residual deployments that survived the delete, most of them
related to DMaaP. I deleted them manually and then upgraded helm from 2.8.2 to
2.9.1, removed and rebuilt the helm repo local, and did a ‘make all’ in
oom/kubernetes. I then entered:

sudo helm install local/onap -n onap --namespace onap

But got this error: Error: release onap failed: Service "dmaap-dr-prov" is
invalid: spec.ports[0].nodePort: Invalid value: 30259: provided port is already
allocated

I’m pretty sure that I had deleted all of the residual DMaaP deployments. Any
suggestions?

Thanks,

George

Team,

AAF, CLAMP, POMBA, Integration, OOM,

As James has iterated – when you add/change a nodeport – do a full helm
install/upgrade of your onap deployment – with “all” pods on – not just the vFW
subset where several pods are disabled via –set .enabled=false – use
the default/inferred deployment with no -f override. Running a subset of onap
for development, to fit in a 64g vm or to reduce the pod count is OK but when
submitting run the full system if possible or at least your change with
onap-minimal (the traditional vFW pods) – and then a 2nd deploy with the rest
of ONAP for vCPE/vVOLTE (the parts that are normally disabled for vFW)

I put a fix in for clamp where they now have nodeport 58 (previously
reserved for log/logdemonode) in
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/OOM+NodePort+List instead of the conflicted
port with pomba – 34.

I’ll fix my ELK/log RI container to use 304xx later – it is not part of the
requirements.yaml (it only shares the namespace) – so there is no conflict
there until I bring up the 2nd deployment.

https://gerrit.onap.org/r/#/c/64545/

Tested and ready for merge.

Some background on 63235 - as we need a 304xx nodeport - this jira is
really 2 parts (logging and exposing a new port) - we failed to test the
conflict with pomba because my AWS CD system was temporarily not running -

Hi Michal,

The limit of 110 pods applies per node so if you add another node (or two) to
your cluster you’ll avoid this problem. We’ve had problems in the past with
multi-node configurations but that seems to be behind us. I’ll put a note in
the documentation – thanks for reporting the problem.

Subject: [onap-discuss] OOM Beijing HW requirements

Hi all,

I am trying to deploy latest ONAP (Beijing) using OOM (master branch) and I
found some challenges using suggested HW resources for all-in-one (rancher
server + k8s host on single node) deployment of ONAP:

HW resources:
· 24 VCPU
· 128G RAM
· 500G disc space
· rhel7.4 os
· rancher 1.6.14
· kubernetes 1.8.10
· helm 2.8.2
· kubectl 1.8.12
· docker 17.03-ce

Problem:

some random pods are unable to spawn and are on "Pending" state with error "No
nodes are available that match all of the predicates: Insufficient pods (1).“

Analyzis:

it seems that mine server can allocate max. 110 pods, which I found from
"kubectl describe nodes" output

...

Allocatable:

cpu: 24

memory: 102861656Ki

pods:110

...

full ONAP deployment with all components enabled might be 120+ pods but I did
not get even that 110 running,

maybe some race-condition for latest pods. If I disable 5+ components in
onap/values.yaml, it will fit into that server but then it seems that "Minimum
Hardware Configuration" described in

http://onap.readthedocs.io/en/latest/submodules/oom.git/docs/oom_cloud_setup_guide.html

is wrong (120GB RAM, 160G disc, 16vCPU)

or is there any hint how to increase that maximum number of allocatable pods ?

thanks,

Michal

Re: [onap-discuss] [oom] 110 kubernetes pod limit increase for single node dev deployment testing - procedure

2018-09-05 Thread Eric Debeau
Hello

We need to work on a smaller footprint for testing purposes.

I agree that using a single VM can facilitate the work, but we also need to
reduce the memory footprint.
Most of pods are consuming a lot of memory not necessary for simple tests.

I am currently working on a solution to reduce the global footprint with a
target to lower the memory footprint for the vFW use-case as low as possible.

Best Regards

Eric

[onap-discuss] [oom] 110 kubernetes pod limit increase for single node dev deployment testing - procedure

2018-09-05 Thread Michael O'Brien
Team,
There is a workaround for the default (rancher template)
-max-pods=110 limit per node - I would set it to over 200 - I left this on the
side since June because I have AWS clusters - but I think it would be good to
have a single node deployment for dev testing - with the workaround you can
bring up all of ONAP within 115G - with a set of dev profiles - keyed to use
cases like the vFW we should be able to get back to 64g versions - without
having an NFS enabled cluster - something that can fit on a Thinkpad P52.

Procedure and video here
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Cloud+Native+Deployment#CloudNativeDeployment-Changemax-podsfromdefault110podlimit
I put the procedure and a 1m video above - the rest call to do
this in line 111 of
https://git.onap.org/logging-analytics/tree/deploy/rancher/oom_rancher_setup.sh#n111
is being tested - but for now you can edit the kubernetes template during the
wait time before the environment instances is created from it

Manual procedure: change the kubernetes template (1pt2) before using it to
create an environment (1a7)

add --max-pods=500 to the "Additional Kubelet Flags" box on the v1.10.13
version of the kubernetes template from the "Manage Environments" dropdown on
the left of the 8880 rancher console.

Results: using a WIP single node procedure
https://wiki.onap.org/display/DW/Cloud+Native+Deployment#CloudNativeDeployment-Scriptedundercloud(Helm/Kubernetes/Docker)andONAPinstall-SingleVM
We run around 164 persistent pods currently - it takes about an hour to get a
clean system up (including 20+ min docker pulls directly nexus3)
Single AWS 244G 32vCore VM with 110 pod limit workaround - 164 pods (including
both secondary DCAEGEN2 orchestrations at 30 and 55 min) - most of the
remaining 8 container failures are known/in-progress issues.

[onap-discuss] [integration][seccom] Security testing tools

2018-09-05 Thread Helen Chen
Hi, Amy,

As we have discussed in security subcommittee meeting a few weeks back,
integration team is evaluating a “full” security scanning tools to do some
testing at Integration lab. Brian mentioned that AT&T has some used some tools.
Do you mind to share some more information related to that?

And we’re trying to schedule a meeting to follow up with this topic, do you
have 30 minutes after tomorrow’s TSC (9/6/2018) to discuss it? Ran Pollak has
some tools to share as well.

The goal for this is to identify a tool, (maybe commercial version paid by LF),
to make sure ONAP is more secure.

Re: [onap-discuss] [integration] Problem with opening Jenkins logs

2018-09-05 Thread Helen Chen
Hi, Marcin,

Could you try the following url? (That site was set privately, not from LF)

http://onapci.org/jenkins/

And from there, try the console output directly.
http://onapci.org/jenkins/job/windriver-sb02-oom-staging-manual/3/console

Or you could go to the real hosted site, those are from open labs, to find
those logs as well.

Hi,

I’m not able to view any Jenkins Robot report or log files from test execution.
Example

I found out error message “Blocked script execution in '' because the
document's frame is sandboxed and the 'allow-scripts' permission is not set.”
in browser console and when I google it, seems to be some lack of settings in
Jenkins.

Are you familiar with this problem? Can someone help to solve it?

Re: [onap-discuss] [OOM] helm install local/onap fails - fix for #clamp #aaf #pomba

2018-09-05 Thread George Clapp

Thanks,

George

#clamp #aaf #pomba

Some background on 63235 - as we need a 304xx nodeport - this jira is
really 2 parts (logging and exposing a new port) - we failed to test the
conflict with pomba because my AWS CD system was temporarily not running -
after the AAF/CLAMP merge for OOM-1174 in https://gerrit.onap.org/r/#/c/63235/

[onap-discuss] Policy - how to deploy snapshot versions in docker

2018-09-05 Thread vamshi
Hi All,

I've tried executing vDNS use case by installing default policies and control
loops, which was alright. Later I've changed the SOActorServiceProvider.java
file from drools-application\actor.so.
After making changes I re-build the code and dockers as well. But the
changes(I've introduced just loggers) not reflecting in debug.log of pdp-d when
I execute vDNS use case again.

I observed the pdp-d docker fetching the dependent artifacts (ex:
actor.so-1.2.3.jar) from the maven nexus repository, not the snapshot version
from local machine though I recreate the docker with new code.
How to ensure usecase(like vDNS) execution to pick up local maven artifact
snapshots like actor.so-1.2.3-SNAPSHOT.jar instead reaching out to maven
repository while developing policy code in local ?

Appreciate your help.

Thanks & Regards,

Hi Sirisha,

The apex snapshot docker snapshot images are being created, it's just the
release job that is stopped. Therefore to run the latest APEX docker image in
Docker do the following:

1. Log into the ONAP docker repo
docker login -u docker -p docker nexus3.onap.org:10003

2. Run the APEX docker image
docker run -it --rm nexus3.onap.org:10003/onap/policy-apex-pdp:latest

That gives you a shell in the apex docker container. Go into the directory
/opt/app/policy/apex-pdp and then use the steps below to run the vCPE example.

Hi Sirisha,

Great, glad to hear you got it working!

The APEX PDP will be available as a Docker image in Nexus once Casablanca is
released. You will be able to use it by downloading it and running it in
Docker. We will have integration towards Kubernetes iin Casablanca as well.

At the moment, the Docker image for APEX in the ONAP nexus repo is old because
we have an unreleased dependency (we depend on a common Policy component that
is also being released in Casablanca), and the ONAP Docker generation job does
not allow the use of unreleased dependencies. All will be well once Casablanca
is released but I will look at if we can fix this to allow people to use the
snapshot Docker image prior to release.

In the meantime, you can install APEX by either installing the Tarball or .deb
package (on Ubuntu/debain etc) from Nexus at:
https://nexus.onap.org/service/local/repositories/snapshots/content/org/onap/policy/apex-pdp/packages/apex-pdp-package-full/2.0.0-SNAPSHOT/apex-pdp-package-full-2.0.0-20180904.131844-54-tarball.tar.gz

Re: [onap-discuss] AAI dataRestoreSnapshot

2018-09-05 Thread Abdelmuhaimen Seaudi
Hi,

I was able to solve this issue, the reason the restore did not run is because
the old snapshot file was added to the aai-resources docker under user root,
while the snapshot file should be under user aaiadmin, so that the java restore
function can read the old snapshot file.

I think the java function should have caught this exception in order to print
out error if it can’t read the old snapshot file.

 } else if (command.equals("RELOAD_DATA")) {
   … output truncated …
System.out.println("We will load data IN from the file = " +
oldSnapshotFullFname);
  System.out.println(" Begin reloading data. ");

  graph.io(IoCore.graphson()).readGraph(oldSnapshotFullFname);  <<
in case the function cannot read the old snapshot file, there’s no error logged
to user

System.out.println("Completed the inputGraph command, now try to commit()...
");

  graph.tx().commit();

  System.out.println("Completed reloading data.");

Subject: AAI dataRestoreSnapshot

Hi

If I try to restore an old snapshot in AAI Beijing, I find that the
dataRestoreSnapshot script does not actually reset or clear out the old
database, before restoring the old snapshot.

This is giving me duplicate records in AAI Graph database, and it prevents me
from using AAI, as i get errors like, cannot operate on multiple vertices.

For example, customer Demonstration is now appearing several times, and if i
try to delete this customer, i get error, cannot delete multiple vertices.

I noticed that the scripts calls java function with $1 and $2. $1 is the old
snapshot, what is $2 ?

I looked in the code and found out that if we use only $1, the clear entire db
part runs, however the old snapshot is not imported correctly, and if i try to
get any values, i get not found error.

What is the correct way to restore an ols snapshot ?

Thanks

A. Seaudi
