Re: [OpenIndiana-discuss] Microphone and pulseaudio
Hello Tony, I am sure I read the latest release pulse audio contains upgrades from Atmos designs which may boost volume in some graphics and sound cards ? I've been rummaging around in pulseaudio(pacmd etc.) all day now, but I can't find anything that's not set to a 100% volume with regards to the microphone. Any ideas and suggestions are welcome. Maybe it's not switched on in the mixer ? I tried $ audioctl set-control -v mic 100 But that only increased the level, and the noise with it. I suppose that's what you mean by "mixer"? No, I meant the equivalent of the Gnome audiomixer, Linux alsamixer, don't know what's that on Mate now. Should be somewhere in the desktop menu. Yeah, that's the mate-volume-control thingy I mentioned earlier. It's at 100% for the mic volume. Some BIOSes also have an option to switch audio devices, usually it says 'Use AudioHD' or similar. It should be switched to the AudioHD device, if it has such. I'll check that and report back. /tony ___ openindiana-discuss mailing list openindiana-discuss@openindiana.org https://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss

Hmm.. I get the exact same results with audiorecord -v 100 and audioplay. I'm going to try with another mic(headphones actually because I have only the one mic) /tony -- Tony Albers - Systems Architect - IT Development Royal Danish Library, Victor Albecks Vej 1, 8000 Aarhus C, Denmark Tel: +45 2566 2383 - CVR/SE: 2898 8842 - EAN: 5798000792142 ___ openindiana-discuss mailing list openindiana-discuss@openindiana.org https://openindiana.org/mailman/listinfo/openindiana-discuss

[OpenIndiana-discuss] Microphone and pulseaudio
I'm having issues getting an analogue (using a 3,5mm jack connector) microphone to work properly. It shows up in the mate-volume-control window, but even when it's at 100% volume, there's no sound level indication.
