Re: new screen sharing option since r2736

2009-12-06 Thread E.F. K.
Testing version: r2750.

I have also tested in a LAN network and, yes, there is improvement for
screen_viewer=4. However, when tested in Internet, the response for
screen_viewer=4 is slower. Generally, the lag can be 10s or more,
especially after a series of screen change.

For screen_viewer=0, the lag is always shorter and generally less than
5s in both LAN and Internet.

The network speed and other conditions are the same for both sharers
because the only thing I did was changing the screen_viewer setting in
Configuration menu.

Tested with fresh installation of r2736. Yes, I can see the new
desktop screen sharer now. There must be a problem with my update from
r2688 to r2736. I will figure it out later.

Tested the new desktop screen sharer. I find that the screen refresh
is slow at the viewer side as compared to the previous screen sharer
(screen_viewer =0). The test was done over the Internet. For
screen_viewer=0, the response time difference between the moderator
and viewer is about 1 to 2 secs. For screen_viewer=4 (the new screen
sharer), the response time difference increases to about 5 secs.

The second problem for the new screen sharer is that the moderator's
cursor position does not sync with the zoom size of the screen. That
is, the cursor always display at a position as if the screen is still
  at 100%.

I have updated from r2688 to r2736 and changed the screen_viewer
setting from 0 to 4 in Configuration.

Is there suppose to have a different user interface for this new
screen sharing option?

The only difference I have noticed is that at the viewer side, the two
start buttons have been changed to Start Flash and Start Java. There
is no change for the user interface at the moderator side.
