[opensuse] Kmail problem Can not preform LIST operation
This is the second time a email on my POP3 mail server has caused kmail to spit out the Can not preform LIST operation. After going through the web system for my email and cleaning it up Kmail works fine. I want to know if anyone here in the mailing list has any clue what in an email could cause kmail to do this so I can set up a filter on my mail account with the server to do something, probably send it my linuxmail.org email address, or if it is possable to use fetchmail and download the messages off of the server and feed them to kmail one by one until I hit the one that causes kmail to give this error and use that as a guide for that filter. signature.asc Description: This is a digitally signed message part.
[opensuse] Kmail problem
I am having kmail connect to my pop3 mail account, I know the server is up because I am able to ping it, but it could be having trouble (sadly it happens a lot with my ISP). The thing that is throwing me off is the error message that I am getting, usually I get an error saying that the server is sending an improper greeting, or something like that, but this time I am getting this error Unable to complete LIST operation. after that comes up Kmail just sits there saying that it is Preparing Transmission from my ISP and thats it. It doesn't lock up or anything because all the menus and buttons responded, its just not communicating with the server. I don't know if this is of any help but right now I am running Kmail via Konsole, because I am running it remotely from my desktop. Here is what shows up on konsole from the time Kmail opens to where that error message comes up. kbuildsycoca running... [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~ WeaverThreadLogger: thread (ID: 1) suspended. Re: [opensuse] Kmail problem
Greetings vendion, Torsdag 01 november 2007 19:50 kvad [EMAIL PROTECTED]: [KMail reports] Unable to complete LIST operation. [and does nothing.] I haven't had this problem myself, but I think I remember others having it. If my memory serves me well, the problem is that there is a message at your ISP, which KMail doesn't like. Other people have solved the problem by fetching the message with a different mail client, that does not panic over the message, or they use their webmail, to delete the problem message. That is all I know. Try to google: Unable to complete LIST operation. kmail Best regards :o) Johnny :o) -- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
