[openthinclient-user] Citrix 11.100 Application Config Issue

2011-10-17 Thread Amodei, Anthony
Hello,

Has anyone had issues configuring the Citrix Receiver? I keep getting a
'Network is unreachable' message .

I've tried a few things regarding the Server Address setting, but still no luck.

Anyone seen this?

Thanks!

Re: [openthinclient-user] Citrix 11.100 Application Config Issue

2011-10-18 Thread Ludger Funke
Hi Anthony.

We are using Citriy Receiver and it works. There are some issues:

- Bevore starting the Citrix Receiver run as superuser:

ln -s /usr/lib/libXm.so.4  /usr/lib/libXm.so.3.0.2

Simply put this commandline in an executable file stored
in /opt/openthinclient/server/default/data/nfs/root/custom/

- The window manager xfwm4 is needed. It can be configered in under
applications - desktop
- Automaticly hide taskbar has to be disabled. It can be configered in
under applications - desktop too.

- The command '/opt/ica/client/11/wfcmgr' starts the Citrix Receiver.
You have to change to "Xenapp View" and configure the Citrix Xenapp
Server-URL (webinterfaceserver). The Settings are stored in
'~/.ICAClient/reg.ini'

‘Network is unreachable’  sounds like a general network problem. Is the
webinterfaceserver reachable with ping?

2011-10-18 Thread Amodei, Anthony
Hello Ludger,

Thank you for the response!

Yes, name resolution works with no problem, I added an xterminal app to the
client and was able to ping the environment, as well as do forward and reverse
DNS looksups, also, I added the Firefox application to the client as well and I
was able to go to our Citrix Xenapp site and log in without issue. The network
part seems ok, but I'm not sure. I also configured the Server address under the
Citrix ICA with and without the http:// in the address. But still no luck.

Thank you so much for your help! I have a question about the statement you made
(im running openthinclient on a windows server, so...
- Bevore starting the Citrix Receiver run as superuser:

ln -s /usr/lib/libXm.so.4 /usr/lib/libXm.so.3.0.2

Simply put this commandline in an executable file stored in
/opt/openthinclient/server/default/data/nfs/root/custom/ - What type of file
should this be? (I'm not a great user of Linux just yet)

2011-10-18 Thread Ludger Funke
Hi Anthony.

There is 'custom'-folder somewhere in the openthinclient program
directory - i guess. And there is a README, which describes how ist
works. The unix filesystem has file attributes read, write, execute. I
don't know how it is workarounded in a windows environment.

Try this:

start your XTerminal App and type:
su
0pen%TC
ln -s /usr/lib/libXm.so.4 /usr/lib/libXm.so.3.0.2
exit
/opt/ica-client-11/wfcmgr

The Citrix Receiver should start now.

Re: [openthinclient-user] Citrix 11.100 Application Config Issue

2011-10-21 Thread Amodei, Anthony
Hey Ludger,

I tried the instructions you gave me on the thin client itself

start your XTerminal App and type:
su
0pen%TC
ln -s /usr/lib/libXm.so.4 /usr/lib/libXm.so.3.0.2 exit /opt/ica-client-11/wfcmgr

However, after entering the last line to start the client, I just get 'Error
while loading shared libraries : libXm.so.4: cannot open shared object file: No
such file or directory.

I'm not sure what I'm missing.

2011-10-24 Thread Ludger Funke
Hi Anthony.

The message says, that libXm.so.4 still is missed. You can check it with
a

ls -l /usr/lib/libXm.so.4

There should be a file libXm.so.3.0.2. You can check it with a

ls -l /usr/lib/libXm.so.3.0.2

If this file doesn't exist, then the package libmotif3 is not installed.
I can't remember, that i had to install this package.

If the file is present, then change into the superuser mode with the
secret "0pen%TC", if it isn't changed by you.

su

Then create the symbolic link libXm.so.4 with a

ln -s /usr/lib/libXm.so.4 /usr/lib/libXm.so.3.0.2

After that a

ls -l /usr/lib/libXm.so.4

should be successful.

Then leave the superuser mode with an

exit

and start the receiver with

/opt/ica-client-11/wfcmgr

Good Luck

Ludger,

Thank you so much! I will be trying this today. As far the libmotif3, if I had
to install it, would it be on the openthinclient manager server itself, or
would it be a package I would have to load into the manager and deploy to the
thin clients themselves? Sorry again for my lack of linux knowledge
