Re: [openwisp] Doubt on process running as a root: reg

2024-09-16 Thread Logunath K
I used to use: ps aux and ls -alrt

But the python and openwisp2 packages which are present in this path:
*/opt/openwisp2/env/lib/python3.20site-packages/*
*are all displaying like* root:root *when I do the ls -alrt.
*Does it cause/affect anything on openwisp2?*

[openwisp] Doubt on process running as a root: reg

2024-09-09 Thread Logunath K
Dear team,
All our processes are running smoothly on the ubuntu
server but when I read the documents it's showing "All processes are
running as the www-data user".
but when I saw in* /opt/openwisp2/env/lib/python3.20site-packages/* *all
processes were running as "root" not as www-data.

Only in /*opt/openwisp2/openwisp2* path files are in the user "root" group
as "www-data". Does it cause any effect on the server or application?

I have installed the application via ansible package.

[openwisp] Sending API request : reg

2023-05-22 Thread Logunath K
Greetings...
   Hii team,
I am planning to generate ticket
system for routers notifications. If I want to send an API request from
openwisp2 hosted server to ticket raising server. How and where can I edit
notifications code in the openwisp2? Is it possible ? If the device is not
reachable for 10/15 mins I am planning to send notification through API for
creating a ticket tracking system. Do I have to write a new API or else we
can use an already existing API for this.

 Thanks in advance

Hii Federico,
How to change the port number for the "Send_Command"
option. If I change the port number inside the server path
"etc/ssh/sshd_config" it will change only for the server ssh port but it
does not change it for "Send_Command" and "Firmware_Upgrade". Where I can
change the port number for that. Because If my devices/router has a port
52421 it will through an error called connection refused. How can I solve
this problem?

Thanks in advance

   Dear Federico,
The devices are working fine in
my public server it's awesome, just I wanted to know, where exactly the
code, the data is hitting to the database when device push the data to the
server. I know that information collected from the router/device is not
directly pushed to the database like influxdb and sqlite.db. In the
openwisp2 somewhere the code is written to push the data to the database. I
couldn't see that code after researching also. Please let me know where I
can see that.

Hi Federico/team,
I am new to Openwisp2 but am able to install run openwsip2
server in public ip. I have installed development version of openwisp2 but
I downloaded modules from openwisp github and I have done little changes in
the openwisp_controller module and I pushed code into my GitHub repo...but
now I tried installing openwisp_controller inside that server:

(env) opt/openwisp2/ pip install https://github.com/openwisp_controller/tarball/master/ - it ll install and I can see
that code changes in the particualr_module. After that i tried do

./manage.py migrate - No migrations to apply it ll come. If i check the
server in browser Server Error 500.After installing, How that changes
occur in server? What steps I have to follow.
