That is not right. Red Hat and SUSE also doesn't put the community, but customers first. Should we ban them? Same does Canonical. These three companies are there to make money. Their community projects, Fedora, openSUSE and Ubuntu, respectively put the community first. Re: [osdcmy] Top10 LPI Trainers Project
hi Mohd Fadzil, thnk you for yr comment, I wld like to be involved but I'm afraid I may not have so much time to commit. Although I have done my fair share of Linux installs and SysAdmin, and am setting up a 1U Debian box to be a production server now (4core CPU, RAID, LVM...), my primary interst is more on SW development and programming and I would like to be involved more in the training of programmers and SW development, especially in Python and applying Python in Web Development. It is also good to hear that MOHE is involved, and hopefully it will change the way our Edu system to produces better quality graduates/professionals. (and I have ranted on this..) PS I have applied as I would like to contribue, but as I said in my application, pls give my place up if there are better candidates. We want create more skill people not just only in paper. LPI are already get support by MOHE, Our job now is think how to collaborate with our academia to adopt LPI and others OSS syllabus so maybe help our student be more skill and can challenge our IT industry requirement. It a long way to achieve that something need to be done 1st because after this BSDA, RHA n NLC will follow. We need more information, Knowledge and experience people to share what their got and share with us. It not simple as nut but should take action rather nothing. For the selection we will do with official LPI staff and we will discuss how we want produce skillful and creative trainers and hope we can get the 1st batch Top10 LPI Trainers. Re: [osdcmy] Top10 LPI Trainers Project
hi Eric and all, noted; I got the IBM link from this page: http://www.lpi.org/eng/training__1/study_materials/new_exam_preparation_resources_for_revised_lpic_exams and it says the materials may be updated. The doc on the link was was dated Aug 2009. I followed and clicked the various links, most of the others are not in English, or require you to pay/sign-up for a course before you can see the syllabus (I did not try very hard to search..). The IBM site showed that info quite clearly, so that's how I ended up there. I put it on this list for those who want to see what the syllabus is like. Its pretty comprehensive, and I may not be able to pass this! BTW who are these guys? http://lpi.asiatalk.com.my -- from GoogleAds I went to their website, they talk about LPI but nothing about themselves .., who are the trainers, their background, ... Are they part of any FLOSS community, or someone out to make a quick buck?
