dude, doesn't mean that i apologize i surrender. doesn't mean that i
lost the battle or the war ! is something enjoyable personally to me
see that people still have the guts to actually stand up and say their
mind. and to note that my apology wasn't directly to you but to
everyone in the list.

satisfactions in the job that im doing doesn't related back to my
personal view of thing here. i doing the job due to my responsibility
that was given to me - as simple as that -

true enough red1 to most of my answer to your question was never been
answer from you directly as if the question just another provocation
of someone who have some much time in not doing anything.. :) in
regards of stealing your bike come on dude i would rather take your
exora which will give me more return and the hantukan kepala kat
dinding tu was actually attentional, which i don't felt remorse at
all.. :)

Dear Rafe,
Firstly i do not think you should aplogize because to me you did not do
anything wrong against me personally. Alow me to continue in our
national languge so that there is no misunderstanding.

I think I the youngest one in the community *I think* and I I do admire all
of big guys in community.

I learned from Red1 that "the information are free, and the people are not",
has been driven my passion to contribute more to opensource project,
although only just translation.

I learned from Rafe that "passion is a must", and because of that I'm still
in opensource business although it's hard to accept the reality of life.

I learned from Haris that "always give back to the community", and that's
why I'm really passionate to contribute in community project, although I
don't have that skills, or money, or time.

saya tak kisah kalau kita ni bertelagah pandangan ke, nak suarakan pendapat
ke, but in the end we still eat and talk in same table like use to be.
that's what I do really admire about you guys.

to conclude, let's stay unite and make something big. I always think about
that :)

first and foremost i would like to take this opportunity to apologize
for the blunt and improper words that i use in my context. truly and
sincerely i do apologize but it still doesn't change the fact that is
some individual pursuing their own agenda rather than the whole
movement. a personal vendetta will only bring more damage that good.

Haris, we have been working together since day 1 i receive the
portfolio of OSS and we have done great thing despite what others has
said. and honestly i am proud of what that has become of OSDC.MY i do
hope that it will blooms beautifully in time... but you need to be
stronger and have bigger balls to roll with.. :)

azrul, i have the utmost respect for u, being a man that you are, a
husband to a wife that love you, a father to child that meant the
world to them, a strong supporter to the course that you believed in,
and as an individual who cares about your countrymen. who doesn't
believed that wealth and knowledge is only for a certain individual
but to everybody. i believed you will be an important asset to the
country when the time comes. InsyaAllah all your sorrow and
disappointment will be the courage that others will fight upon...

red1, i can't stop you from being ass that you are :-) . a brave man
that you are who stand tall among the rest... being a world leader and
being a fighter who know no defeat with an army goat in your neighbor
reban. i have learn a lot from like you which some of you bad
personalities has been adapted by me to used it against you.. :)
hahahaha.. i do hope you don't keep it in your heart where all of
these is a training ground for our younger generation to be. we're not

making you proud already red1. i do hope one day you would materialize
your dream in bringing back what you love most to the country that
have love you the less. :) dont worried as long as im here i will kick
your ass... hahahaha..

all of you are my friend, i have come to know you and respect you and
see what you have been fighting for all these while and come to
believe what you believed in... but my hand is not always free to help
as there are time where both of my hand and leg is being tight and
nailed down due to the policies and structure. i didn't mean to create
a differences between you between friends all of you are fighting the
same battle and war that yet to be determine whether have you won or
loose...

all am asking don't make us as target you don't want to make us as
your enemies and not to be proud we do have the advantages of pressing
all of these down. i would rather be a friend and have a teh tarik
with all of you rather than fighting you... unless you can proof
beyond doubt the im willing to you to the extra miles to stand beside
you and try to make thing right. but an individual or silos agenda
will only ruins what you have build so far. run this community as a

Sorry all,

Sorry for not holding to my sabar. Tapi duduk dalam kasut saya. Since
1999 saya dan rakan-rakan yang lain telah gunakan OSS dan promote OSS.
Macam mana pengalaman kami dalam bank trying untuk yakinkan pengurusan
bank gunakan Linux untuk bank end server (DNS and file sharing) since
1999 and later http web server.

We always prove our point by making its happen and show the fact by
doing it. Not just talking about it.

During OSCC MAMPU teach me to respect what the pegawai-pegawai have
done to make the OSS policy in government. Its a lot. Sampai kami yang
kami daripada swasta ini tak terlawan.

Mula saya anggap ia birokrasi tapi its the way check and balance work
between agencies. You need to be in their then we can understand.

Im tired of flame war or blaming any parties for our failure. dan
sebenar its not a failure. Its the nature of OSS community itself. Its
will take time to growth and must be nature properly.

Its take more than 10 years for community like Linux kernel and Apache
web server to mature. Even Ubuntu community the founder and funder is
burning money to do it. But we are not at that pleasure of doing it so
like I wrote before this.

Semua adalah kepada kita. Kita yang menentukan jalan kita. Kita
sebagai komuniti perlu usaha sendiri dan lakukan.

Siapa lagi?

Sekian, terima kasih.

OSS is all about community, and for that we are the one that need to

How many OSS days that we have done?
How many people know and support OSS?
How many companies that really into OSS?

The numbers and figure that MDeC produce should be use by us for

MDeC only do what they are instruct to do. KPI KRA dan organisation

I believe we will refer back to MDeC figure and used it. .

Yeah, I also think that the F word is so uncalled for. My blog is a bit

My main thesis that MDeC did practically nothing to promote Java despite
Java being the king maker is based on my investigation. Not happy? please
attack my thesis, not my being.

And as stated I'm not a failure, neither are the Java devs out there. (The
stats prove that). We're not blaming MDeC for this non existing failure. We
want MDeC to promote Java for the benefit of the country as a whole. In
fact, personally I would probably benefit more if MDeC does not promote
Java, less Java devs means my skills will be more sought after and hence
more salary. But, I rather provoke MDeC to take action for the nation.

Azrul,
Quite selfish there, aint it? But do consider, if there are too few
Java devs out there, which is the case, it dampens the market and
substitute skills are sought in the egg and chick story. That is why
many go for PHp cos jobs abound for that. Why? Cos there are more PHp
people. :) (Will update my resume and try again bro. I need to sell my
freedom to the highest bidder)

All,

Yes is no fun being me hence all the F words.. but ontop of the F words
I don't trow any names in my email nor trying to get sympathy. Nor to
provoke certain individual. Never was my attention.

Even with the small budget that we have we tried our best to make it
what it is where one of the outcomes is all of us being here at one
place where we bitch! And we share knowledge. How many awareness
programme that the community has successfully put in place and how many
new members has it attracted? And how many corporation and university
has started to belived that OSS is an alternative to choose from. And
the community has started in order to grow bigger and stronger. Ask
yourself this.. what have you contributed so far? I don't see this as a
failure I can't change what already in the past but what I can do is
the present and the future.

As bad as it seem to be Malaysia is the only country who supported OSS
publicly and funded it community, community not companies where we have
went to hell and back making the justification, and we put our neck on
the line and our comfort zone to belived what you belived. And on top
if that we put our 5 figure salary on the line too, we don't need to do
this but we did it anyway because we belived! As simple as that.

And you on the star in tech, in what way that we leverage on the piece?
We don't carried it all over the places we don't even claims that the
news was ours, the mileage for that news is only for you and you alone
and only you benefits from it, how can you said that we used you where
all the arrangements was made you. We were never involve in it at all.

Again people we lives in a country where paper and borang is necessary,
is it so bad just to fill a few form for us to see what you have
planned and how are you going to make it happened? We don't lend you
the money we giving away without interest regardless if it fail later
on due to whatever. Name me one organization outside the country that
are doing this?

Am I so wrong that I pointed out the necessary? The rest and test is
totally up to you, hope you learn from it and benefits from it too.

Salam..

Regards
//Rafe

Subject: [osdcmy] WHY MDEC BEING A TARGET OF YOUR OWN FAILURE?
To: <osdcmy-list@googlegroups.com>

Not that i want to defend Azrul here, hmm, come to
think of it, i am
defending him here. Ok here goes Tahrir Square slogan 1.

Azrul is not a failure. He is a grad from France. He worked at Sun. He
is a Java expert. He knows its architecture. I seen him work. Ok, that
part a bit misguided. If i can see and _understand_ how he worked that
is.

He is working for a private firm at the moment, not MDec, and thus is
not answerable ethically to tax-payers money. He is paid 5 figures. He
gets to have playstation at work. Ok that part is not jealousy. That 5
figure is. His subject area is in BI. Ok just to throw some heavy words

that only Raja Iskandar can understand.

Now he told me once before, he offered MDec free, as in free lunch Java

coaching sessions for generasi muda to stop the brain drain and he
wants
to do it based on Open Source so that they do not go work for gomen or
someone ELSE. So they get a fighting chance.

But after some years, he was not appreciated, and i found him holed up
in CyberJaya MMU incubator slot doing freelance stuff, thats before he
gets the playstation job.

Now i think,
