Thanks Phil for the advice. On Sysconfig I
have added I-Mail-Spam-Revdns and I have also put the Match and Set values as
advised, but still it does no work.

I've had some fun with this lately. We changed ISP and they use Imail
and their premium mail filter.

I had to add the relevant tags into the SysConfig in OTRS to be able to
pick them up in the postmaster filter screen.

Also they were case sensitive, but once this was done filters such as:

Match: I-Mail-Spam-Revdns = .*

Set: X-OTRS-QUEUE = Junk

Set X-OTRS-STATE = closed successful

worked nicely.

Apologise that this list is in uppercase after mentioning the case
sensitivity, but here are the tags I was given:

X-IMAIL-SPAM-ADDRBL
X-IMAIL-SPAM-DNSBL
X-IMAIL-SPAM-HELOBL
X-IMAIL-SPAM-HELODOMAIN
X-IMAIL-SPAM-INVALIDFROM
X-IMAIL-SPAM-IP4R
X-IMAIL-SPAM-STATISTICS
X-IMAIL-SPAM-RHSBL
X-IMAIL-SPAM-PHRASE
X-IMAIL-SPAM-VALFROM
X-IMAIL-SPAM-VALREVDNS
X-IMAIL-SPAM-VALHELO
X-IMAIL-SPAM-URL-DBL
X-IMail-SPAM-Premium
X-IMail-SPAM-SPF-None
X-IMail-SPAM-SPF-Fail
X-IMail-SPAM-SPF-Softfail

And you have a SMTP gateway tagging this? Something like
SpamAssasin or the
likes?

Re: [otrs] Help finding installer.

2006-09-28 Thread Dustin Oprea

I was wondering if I could be assisted within the installation. I know
I should be able to do this, but I'm having some trouble. None of the
scripts needed for setup appear to be where they are supposed to be...
My original email follows.

Dustin Oprea wrote:

The documentation indicates that there should
be an otrs/installer.pl webbable script, and there is not.

I am having problems therefore doing anything but installing it... It
appears that the only useful scripts are in /var/www/otrs/bin/ and
/var/www/otrs/scripts . The 'installer.pl' script is located in
/var/www/otrs/bin/cgi-bin/, but I believe it does not run properly (I'd
confirm, but I'm at work and that machine is off).

An excerpt from the Suse RPM documentation indicating the expected path
of the installer.pl script follows, below.

Dustin

From the documentation:

linux:~ # rpm -ivh /tmp/otrs.rpm
otrs##
Check OTRS user (/etc/passwd)... otrs exists.

Next steps:

[SuSEconfig]
Execute 'SuSEconfig' to configure the webserver.

[start Apache and MySQL]
Execute 'rcapache restart' and 'rcmysql start' in case they don't run.

[install the OTRS database]
Use a webbrowser and open this link:
 http://localhost/otrs/installer.pl

[OTRS services]
Start OTRS 'rcotrs start-force' (rcotrs {start|stop|status|restart|start-force|stop-force}).

Have fun!

Thanks a lot for your response.. I think I may need further help, though:

I have these two questions:

a) I notice there aren't two actual files named "webserver-cgi-setup" or
"otrs-cgi-setup" What are the scripts that I am expected to modify,
if any?
b) What must I do to begin setup? Is it as simple as just installing the
rpm and opening the setup page?

I see that the installer.pl file used to set up the system should be
in OTRS' root web directory, but it seems to be buried in
"www/otrs/bin/cgi-bin/installer.pl" instead. I tried many different
versions, and then just moving everything (as a last resort) to where
the documentation says the installer script and every other webfile
should be, but to no avail.

What am I missing?

The static web-files are located in
URL-path /otrs-web/, that's the file-path [your installation specific
otrs-home]/var/httpd/htdocs/.

The dynamic pages (perl-scripts) are located in
URL-path /otrs/, that's (if running CGI) [your installation specific
otrs-home]/bin/cgi-bin/.

It's not neccassary to move files within you otrs-installation.
Watch you webserver-cgi-setup and ajust otrs-cgi-setup to fit it.

  Thanks :) .

[otrs] Can't locate Kernel/Config.pm in @INC

Thanks Phil for the advice. On Sysconfig I have added I-Mail-Spam-Revdns

I think the point you are missing is the one Andy Lubel raised:

Andy Lubel wrote:

What he is saying is that your incoming email must be being processed and
tagged in the headers FIRST before OTRS can use the tags to filter out spam.

OTRS is not a spam filter itself, it can only filter based on the message
headers.

My previous message was an example of the headers that MY ISP puts on my email
headers. Your ISP might not have a spam system, or may have a different one.

If they have a different one, you will have to ask them what they use and what
headers to expect.
If they do not have a spam system, you will have to implement one yourself, as
described in the OTRS manual.

I hope this helps you to understand and crack your spam problem!

Are you sure you copied Kernel/Config.pm.dist to Kernel/Config.pm, as
required in step 4 of the INSTALL document?

Also, make sure you've run bin/SetPermissions.sh with the proper
users/groups, as required in step 7 of the INSTALL document.

Your @INC looks fine, it should include Kernel/Config.pm if it exists
and is readable.

[otrs] Ticket Ownership Changes

2006-09-28 Thread Joe Fusco
Is there any way to stop OTRS from changing ownership of a ticket just
because I touched it? I have tickets assigned to a technician but will
often place notes in the ticket (authorization for expenditures, etc.).
I want to leave ownership with the technician and just insert a note.

Thank you

Thank you Bryan, your advice solved my problem.
I initially followed an INSTALL.RedHat document which did not include
the steps you mentioned.

I then had another problem when starting otrs, it turned out to be a
bug described here: http://bugs.otrs.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1231 (related
to DB.pm line 219 and perl-DBD-MySQL-3.0004-1) applying a patch
solved that one.

mail zugewiesen.

Wir wären über ein feedback ihrerseit erfreut
