The blank field is also not created on my system. Apart from the SysConfig 
Issue everything is working fine and smooth. Maybe it's possible to create the 
field in the OTRS-Home/Kernel/Config/Files ZZZAAuto.pm and ZZZAuto.pm files?!

Hello Astner,
But in my case even when i click on New button, Blank field is not
coming. Did you find any other issues apart from Sysconfig. Rest of the
features are working perfectly for you ??? did u find any other isues?

Hi A G,

after I changed from Perl to PerlEx I faced the same problem. But when I
change any value in the SysConfig and I restart the IIS afterwards, the
values are accepted.

Hello Everyone,
I am running otrs 2.4.5 on windows 2008. Yesterday I configured my IIS 7
with PerlEx, OTRS application is running fine, Speed is also improved but i
am facing one strange problem - I am not able to make any changes in
sysconfig, changes are not being saved. Even when i click on New button
to add a new field in any config file, only the page gets refreshed nothing
happened :(
After this I again switched back to normal Perl (Without PerlEx),
Everything is working fine. Please guide me what mistake i am doing here.

I tried that also but system is restoring the previous values. But I did
not restarted the IIS, may be it was because of that only. Finally i am
configuring my System via normal Perl and once all changes are done I'll
switch to PerlEX.
But I would like to know the reason behind this, this is a big issue in
OTRS.If anybody had any idea on this problem. Please let us know.

[otrs] Office 2007 Documents Open As Zip Files

Hi all,

 

I'm running OTRS on Open Suse 11.1 and I'm having an issue with opening
Office 2007 from OTRS. When we try and open a document it opens as a ZIP
file. This seems to be an issue related to the mime settings and I've
tried adding the following to the /etc/mime.types file however this
hasn't resolved the issue:-

And also

 

application/vnd.ms-word.document.macroEnabled.12 .docm
application/vnd.openxmlformats-officedocument.wordprocessingml.document

I would like to have a queue custom view that lists only the tickets owned by 
the agent logged in. In thi way, an agent can hace a quick access to his own 
tickets without using the search option..Like My Queues view, but 
filtered with the agent tickets.

Is possible to configure OTRS to do it? Do I need to implement o code some new 
procedures/modules?

[otrs] Empty mails deleted

Hello List.

Im using OTRS 2.4.6.

I just got some errors from cron:

Message: POP3: Can't process mail, email no 1 is empty!

Unfortunately this mails are not saved in /opt/otrs/var/spool.

Im afraid to loose mails of my customers.

Does somebody else have this error?

Hallo Andre,

is it possible that two PostMasterMailbox.pl was running at same time?

I found out, that some mail server are not locking a mailbox, so two can fetch 
email the same time and the first one wins, the second one tries to fetch it 
too, but gets as error Can't process mail, email no x is empty!.

So basically in this case no email get's lost, but still the error message is 
really confusing.

This would be no problem if the mail server would lock the mailbox during the 
connection of the first one.

[otrs] Ticket escalation on reopen

Hi everyone,



I have an escalation issue which I don't understand, I hope someone can give me 
a hint.



I have an escalation time of e.g. 24 hours. I get a ticket, I reply to it and 
thereby set the state to closed. A year later someone replies to this mail. The 
ticket is open again and immediately escalates. Why? I would expect to get a 
fresh 24 hours.

Olivier: groups are relative to access rights to tickets/faq/admin

view tickets for example, or to create some.


3. can multiple groups be assigned to a queue? i could only locate a
drop-down to select a single queue.

Olivier: basic groups are automatically created with components (Core,
ITSM etc..). Queues will be part of a single group (for access rights)


4. even though i have configured several users, i can not see them
from the users link. i have to visit users - groups link to list
and configure users.

Olivier: in User Management you can search for users with a * , for
exemple myus* will match for myuser . * alone will match all users


5. deactivating a signature disallows email ticket sending. is there a
way to disable signature inclusion; from maybe sysconfig?

Olivier: easiest is to create an empty signature and use this signature
in your queue.

In the directory /opt/otrs/Kernel/Language/ is a file that is called 
xx_Custom.pm. You just need to rename to en_Custom.pm, or whatever your 
language is that you want to modify (this new file won't be overwritten by an 
update then), and translate the english default values to your needs.

Tip 1: set your frontend to english to see the original wording
Tip 2: don't forget to change the package name within the new file to the 
proper filename.

Magic, please have a look at the very upper right corner of your OTRS when 
working as an Agent.
There is a Module called Locked Tickets (in english of course), this should 
fit your needs as it does show you all your locked tickets. Even more, you can 
clic on predefined filter to only see pending tickets or tickets where the 
pending time is over.

be careful with that option if you need to run statistics.
Every ticket will be set to closed successfully or what ever you define, 
regardless what has been set as closure status before.

[otrs] Problem with Farsi Ticket in SQL Database

Hello dear
I had changed my database from MYSQL to SQL Server 2000 In Otrs 2.4.5.
When I am viewing a new Submitted ticket with Persian text body and
subjects I can't see the true character that anybody had typed With
Persian Language in Ticket Body.
My default char set is set to UTF-8 and data in article table in
database is in correct face
Please Guide Me that How Can i change any Setting  (like YUI
Javasctipt Setting ) to Solve The Problem

[otrs-de] Fehler bei der Installation der Version 2.4.6 unter Windows

Hallo zusammen,

 

nachdem ich die o.g. Version sowohl mit Strawberry-Pearl als auch mit der 
eigenen Perl-Variante installiert habe, bekomme ich jedes Mal direkt nach der 
Installation den selben Fehler. Installiert wird auf einem Windows 2008 Server.

 

Zunächst ist ein Fehler in der httpd.conf ein Fehler. Der Pfad in der Zeile 493 
Include 'C:/OTRS/OTRS/scripts/apache2-httpd-new.include.conf' muss auf Include 
'C:/OTRS/OTRS/otrs-2.4.6/scripts/apache2-httpd-new.include.conf' geändert 
werden.

 

Soweit so gut.

 

Allerdings komme ich anschließend trotzdem nicht auf die Application. Im 
Internet Explorer erhalte ich folgenden Fehler:

das war eine fehlerhafte Version zu beginn des Release. Wir haben aber direkt 
eine neue rausgebracht.
Bitte installiere die neueste Version für Windows von 
http://www.otrs.org/download/, dann sollten diese Probleme nicht mehr auftreten!

hm, das sollte genau so stimmen wie Du es hier angegeben hast.

Kann es evtl. an den Dateirechten liegen oder anderen Modifikationen?
Gibt es irgendwelche Logmeldungen dazu? Apache und OTRS ...
