Re: [otrs] OTRS 2.4.1's new text editor does not support RTL languages like Persian
Hi all, Many many thanks to Martin for resolving the issue so fast. I think "enhancement" mentioned by Michiel would be a valuable feature of text editor if implemented. Hi Michiel, I checked your link out. But unfortuantely It does not support any RTL language at all. It does not support changing direction from left-to-right to right-to-left. Should they eanble something to entering RTL text be enabled? A RTL language like Persian or Arabic is written from right to left. BTW that old trick, RIGHT-TO-LEFT EMBEDDING (U+202B) still works. Please tell me if I could help more about RTL. Re: [otrs] OTRS 2.4.1's new text editor does not support RTL languages like Persian
Dear Michiel, There was not a setting in "RichTextEditor.dtl". Instead of it I added following: oFCKConfig.Config["ContentLangDirection"] = 'rtl' ; It worked but not helped so much. I tried "ctrl+right shfit" in IE too, but does not help too. All 2 solution can force the editor to accept the text in a RTL manner, but when a note or ticket is saved and displayed in OTRS again, all thing have bee gone bad. OTRS itself shows comments and ticket descriptions in LTR regardless of if you have used one of those 2 solutions! So we have TWO problem, one with FCKEditor that does not accept RTL text easily and another with OTRS that shows texts in just LTR. As a workaround I insert unicode character RIGHT-TO-LEFT EMBEDDING (U+202B) in the begging of each text. It is well-known character in Unicode Annex#9 (Bidrectional algoirthm) and force a text to be displayed as a RTL text. [otrs] OTRS 2.4.1's new text editor does not support RTL languages like Persian
Hi all! I just installed OTRS 2.4.1 and realized that we have had a step BACKWARD! While earlier versions of OTRS like 2.3.x was enabled to accept RTL languages in new ticket descriptions and ticket notes, the new OTRS 2.4.1 does not allow to enter any RTL script while creating a new ticket or commenting on existing tickets. It is because of its new rich text editor. This has right and left alignment but does not have RTL or LTR direction. In Earlier versions of OTRS if you have your preferences set to Persian (a RTL language), direction of text editors would be set to RTL automaticcaly. I think the best solution is to add a direction button to this rich text editor toolbar and set it automatically to RTL when user or agent have select Persian in his/her preferences. It could be expanded to alignment too, in the other hand alignment could be set automatically set to Right Alignment when user's environment is Persian. Gmail's compose new mail have a direction button in addition to alignment buttons too. * a RTL language is a language that is written right to left like Persian, Hebrew and Arabic. [otrs] problems while migrating to OTRS 2.4.1
Hi all! Firstly congratulations for OTRS' new version: 2.4.1! I just downloaded its windows source and tried to upgrade my OTRS 2.3.x to OTRS 2.4.1. I followed instructions in UPGRADING file but have had 2 problems: 1. [otrs] OTRS generated CSV and Unicode issue
Hi everybody, Some months ago we have had some problem with CSV files generated by OTRS stats (reports) module. Firstly, separated by Semicolon not Commas and secondly It's Encoding that is UTF-8. If I open the CSV file directly in MS Excel 2007 I will see all fields in just one column and all text was not readable because my CVS has Persian (Farsi) text. I searched for solution and found one. So I illustrated steps to do this correctly in a tiny instruction and posted it to my blog: http://afsharm.blogspot.com/2009/04/otrs-generated-csv-and-unicode-issue.html Hope someday help somebody! Re: [otrs] Graphical stats report with non-Eurpean characters
Dear Michiel, I did a thorough search in C:\Perl and .\OTRS folder but found nothings with extension .ttf or .fnt. I read http://search.cpan.org/dist/GD/GD.pmcarefully and found nothing here providing me how to configure my fonts too. However as I'm original a C# developer, I searched the web and found GD Sharp, a C# wrapper for GD Library. I used it in a Dot.Net project and set its font to arialuni.ttf. This font has a huge set of Unicode characters including Farsi (Persian). Unfortunately the output image was just some question marks: public static void Main() { GD image = new GD(256 + 384, 384, true); GDColor white = image.ColorAllocate(255, 255, 255); GDColor blue= image.ColorAllocate(0, 0, 255); image.Fill(0, 0, white); Font f = new Font(Font.Type.Giant); image.String(f, 0, 0, "Test", blue); image.StringFT(new ArrayList(), 0, @"c:\WINDOWS\Fonts\arialuni.ttf", 40, 0, 100, 100, "افشار محبی", true); image.Arc(128, 128, 60, 20, 0, 720, blue); image.Save(GD.FileType.Png, "my.png", 1); image.Dispose(); } produces image is attached. Additionaly I found the link http://www.williamsportwebdeveloper.com/heading.ashx?text=ASP.NET%20WebLogthat is an ASP.NET consumer of GD Sharp (and GD Library) via this blog post ( http://weblogs.asp.net/rrobbins/archive/2008/06/10/dynamic-heading-generator.aspx). This tool produces question marks instead of Persian (Farsi) characters too. I'm very confused what should I do! Re: [otrs] Configure IIS for OTRS
Hi Sander, Did you granted needed permissions for your folders? One of the possible reasons for "The specified CGI application..." error is insufficient file access rights, for example when IIS has no write access on "\var\log" folder. TEMPORAIRLY grant full access for user EVERONE and see if error disapears or not. It is recomended to put your OTRS source in WWWROOT folder because there is some predefined access rights. OTRS log files are stored in "\var\log" (must be introduced in config.pm) and maybe helpfull.
