Re: sound cards and jaws

2004-09-30 Thread RQJ
Hi Roger,
Iwas just at,
www.freedomscientific.com
last night, and I was looking through the technical service notes, and this
problem was addressed.
Once you get to the website, you need to go to support, find the combo box
where you can choose the product your interested in.
once you get to that page, there is another combo box to choose the topic of
interest.
I believe it is under sound, or speech.
HTH,
Richard Justice

Re: which mp3 player for blind

2004-09-30 Thread russell Bourgoin
Hi,
The book port is also a very accessible mp3 player. The cost of
compact flash cards is continuing to fall, so to own a couple of large ones
is not too large a strain. Load one up with your favorite mp3 tunes and
book port will tell you the names of each as you navigate through the
files. Sounds great through good headphones, and with a portable speaker
system its real cool.

Hi All,
The Book Port from APH works great with Audible. It is the only player on
the market that will allow you to speed up Audible content by compressing
the time and length of pauses in a file. It is totally accessible and very

Re: sound cards and jaws

2004-09-30 Thread mimi
My computer used to stutter sometimes.
But when too many resources are on, even
though I did not turn it on, somehow,
after I have done email and such things
for a while, my Window-Eyes will stutter
and burr on me. It did that a lot more
before the repair last April. It does
it less nowadays, but still does it. I
used to think I would have to load
another driver to stabilize that but
well, here I am. I'll deal with it.
Just reboot and clear the board!

OK, here's what to do if you're running Windows Service Pack 2 and Window-eyes and you
need to set the volume on the yahoo player. When you're in the player, tab until you
hear "change settings". Shift tab twice. Hit insert-plus on the numpad. Hit the
left-slash on the numpad. Wait a few seconds and go through these steps 2 more times
and the volume slider will be at maximum.

Order the stereo version of I'm a speaker at a good price

2004-09-30 Thread Don Ball
I was at radio shack last week and bought the mono version of the tdk I am a
speaker for 19.95, Because I was there at the shack and so was the speaker
and I wanted it. I later found that the mono speaker sells for about $12 at
most internet shops. But wait there's more. I found the stereo version blue
for $12.20 Thats right twelve dollars and twenty cents.
These speakers sell for $35 at the TDK store.
You can get this price at http://www.d-compute.com. When You get to the site
search for the following.
TDK I'M A SPEAKER 24 disc CD Softcase Blue.
or call them at 1-800-519-1194 and give them this order number

pscdsb24ax
They are Only available in blue. If we order a lot they may change the price
but I got three of them and They are the real deal. I Just got mine today.
These are good stereo speakers built in to a zippered cd wallet/cd player
holder. The Speakers need a neck string but I will fix that.Get one and
enjoy.

Removing Nearo

2004-09-30 Thread TerriStimmel
Hello everyone,
I have Nearo Express version 5.5 on my computer. I have no idea how to use
it.
When I open it, I only see four different buttons. An exit button, a more
button, a button marked Nearo, and a button that's just marked by a grafic.
The button marked by the grafic is the help menu, the button marked more
doesn't seem to do anything, the button marked Nearo just says to check out
their website to learn more, and it gives the website.
And of course, the exit button just closes the program.
I would think that this program is supposed to actually do more than this,
but it doesn't.
I'd like to uninstall it, but there doesn't seem to be a way to do this.
Does anyone know how to go about doing this?
I want to do this so that I can install the Nearo burning rom program.
I have a CD with Nearo on it, but I cant tell if it does have Nearo burning
rom on it.
Can anyone help me figure this out if possible?
Thank you,
Terri

Yes there is a fix. Do a system restore and go back to service pack

volume control with JAWS, but you'll have to turn it up for each
stream and I refuse to do that as much surfing as I do on Yahoo
sports. When you're in the Yahoo player. Go down until you see a
link which says something like Full screen 2. Just above that link
there is a link which says seek thumb. Root Jaws to pc and left
clicc. The volume will go up a little bit. If you continue to
route jaws to pc and click, the volume will go up higher and
higher. As I said, I'm afraid that you'll have to do this for every
stream on Yahoo sports unless you rip service pack 2 out. As I said
last week, since I've ripped out service pack 2, I no longer have
the volume problem. Good luck.
