RE: scheduling a recording, best software?

2005-03-01 Thread russell Bourgoin
Hi,
I'm not sure why everyone recommends the software driver for total
recorder. I'm usng the sound board setting, with what you hear selected in
my recording properties, and I've never had a problem recording radio
streams, xmradio shows I play on xmpcr, sets of music played in ots dj, and
on and on. Good luck, but I didn't have to spend hardly a moment setting
up the program.

I have to agree with you oh well It's a shame it seems to be a good
program I would have liked total recorder I just have other things in
my life and I don't have the time to muck around with total recorders
external driver it caused some interesting things to happen at this
end if anyone has any other ideas please feel free to let me know.

I have been looking for a good program for awhile to record from the
internet.

I downloaded replay radio 5.2 it is the demo when I load the program
up I don't get any output that is my screen reader does not appear to
see any of the buttons!!

Their is a button it says something like add show but my screen reader
does not seem to see it when my daughter clicks on that button it
seems to work fine with Hal any ideas pleas this seems to be a very
good program it's a shame that I am having a problem with it at the
start if I get past the add show button it will be ok.

Their does not seem to be any key strokes I must admit I'm not a grate
manual reader ok that's enough on this for now but I hope someone on
this list can help me with this program I'm sure that I have seen
postings before on this program.

Susan, I can certainly do a quality comparison between Winamp and their
player. If when listening to Winamp I don't get the interuptions that I'm
paying to avoid, I guess I'll have the answer on whether there's a
difference. At any rate, thanks much for the thought and I know what you
mean about embedded players. In general I don't think much of them.

Larry,
I've never used the paid service so couldn't say for sure, but that sounds
like a self-serving approach on their part. I should think it wouldn't
hurt
to try to switch to another player if you can. You may find the Winamp
interface easier particularly if you want to bookmark a stream and if the
quality is good for listening you should get a good recording. I guess
I'm

probably just the only site where I do use their player consistently is
the

Hello list,
When you insert the dvd into your computer or dvd player
you probably won't be taken to the start of the movie. You'll hear an ad
for another show or maybe an interactive game or something. To get to the
movie you have to find the play button or the next track button and press
it. If it works the sound for the ad will stop and the sound for the
movie will begin. As stated before in this thread you can't just wait for
the movie to begin the ad will just keep repeating. Also, the dvs
language and caption tracks won't work while the ads are playing but only
while the movie is playing.
Hope this helps.

Susan, I'm using the Live 365 player because I understood that you had to
use it if you were a paid subscriber. In other words, if you use other
players, you don't get the higher quality stream or the reduced
interuptions. Do you know whether or not this is in fact the case? I do know
that recording quality from TR was much better with Winamp.

Larry,
I suspect that Dean is right and that changing the volume settings in
Total
Recorder may help. However, you might also try playing the stream through
Winamp rather than the Live 365 player, particularly if you've been
successful with Total Recorder and other streams. I can't remember the
steps for changing players but it isn't that difficult. hth.

recording question with live 365

2005-03-01 Thread Larry N
I've signed up for Live 365's preferred member plan in order to listen with
higher quality. It sounds great until I record a stream using Total
Recorder. TR requires that alternative driver thing which may work well for
them, but I don't think a lot of it. My Live 365 stream recordings come out
distorted and somewhat muffled. That being said, I'm looking for new
software for the purpose. Any suggestions? Has anyone tried recording a
stream from a service that employs its own player using Replay Radio? It is
the use of a stream specific player which seems to create issues for Total
recorder.

Re: Winamp and Windows media conflict

2005-03-01 Thread Barry Chapman
Hi Gerry,

I don't know if you have received any answers to your question yet, but I
didn't notice any on the list.

What you need to do is:

1. Start Winamp.

2. Press ctrl+p to open the preferences menu.

3. arrow up to file types and tab to the list of associated file types.

4. Arrow to WMA and press space to unselect it.

5. Tab to restore file associations at Winamp startup. If it is checked,
uncheck it.

6. Tab to close and press space to return to the Winamp main window.

Hopefully this will solve your problem.

Regards,
Barry Chapman
