Re: looking for a good Microphone for computer voice chat.
If you google both terms respecttively, you will get an extensive review of the two. maybe more lengthy than what I can provide. If you have any question or cannot find anything, I will try my best. but I believe you will get a better understanding if you try a search first. Most Condensers run on Fantom power. but I also believe that a good dynamic mic will do the job as well. but condenser is neeter. copying audio cds
Hi, This is a very basic question and I should know the answer to it but I am wondering what the best method and most accurate is for copying an audio cd using nero. HI Richard, I normally just burn an image of the CD to my HD, then burn that image onto the blank CD. If you require further detail on how to do this, contact me and I'd be glad to help. need help with MP3 direct cut
Hi folks, Well, my brain seems to be on vacation today, lol. i have had no difficulty opening files using MP3 direct cut in Windows 98 but can't seem to manage the open dialog in XP. I'm using the classic startmenu configuration and can find the files I want when going to c;\my documents and settings or via c:\compaq owner's documents in my computer. i've even moved the files I want to work with into the my music subdirectory and can see them when arrowing up and down the list manually, but when i either type in a file name to the open dialog or attempt to use the look In list the file(s) do not show up. Being fairly new to XP I'm assuming there is something basic that I am missing regarding the setting up of the documents list but can't quite figure it out. What settings do I need to change so the whole document list is visible as in windows 98? hope I have explained the question clearly. Also, where can I find the audio tutorial that Robert Hebard did regarding the MP3 cut program? The link I have does not appear to work. Any advice concerning the above questions much appreciated. Re: need help with MP3 direct cut
Susan, XP tricks you when it comes to the location of folders. The my music folder is actually located at: c:\documents and settings\owner\my documents\my music but fortunately mp3 direct cut remembers the folder you most recently used. Also, of course, you can browse for the my music folder. Re: need help with MP3 direct cut
John, That is the URL i had, but I basically got a page not found error and Comcast, which is also my ISP, directed me to what appeared to be their homepage, very strange. Anyway, not sure whether the link is still active, but I think I may have backed up the audio files when changing to mnew PC, so hopefully I'll find them. Anyway, thanks for the help. Re: need help with MP3 direct cut
Don, I knew that should have worked. Remember what I said about the brain being on vacation? The files I want to split are playlist files with m3u or PLS extensions, info courtesy of the details view which I should have checked in the first place, duh! Anyway, I found I can split actual MP3 files so haven't completely lost my mind. i wish there was an easy way to extract parts of a playlist, any thoughts? In the past I've re-re-recorded using Total Recorder,. Again, many thanks. Two Iriver players
I've heard on this list that the Iriver IFP-790 is easy for VIPs to use. I see they also have a model called the IFP-190. I wonder if it is as good and or easy to use. It is currently being heavily discounted at www.futureshop.ca I just reviews the messages refering to the IFP-799 and now wonder just how frustrating it might be. Re: Two Iriver players
Hi, bobcat, After doing quite a bit of research, I just today purchased the iRiver iFP-795 which is identical to the iFP-790 except for the memory being 512 MB. I talked with an iRiver tech who said he had spoken to a number of blind users using the iFP-700 series. He also said that the latest firmware, version 1.25 now includes adjustment of playback speed. I also particularly wanted the ability to record direct from the FM tuner which the 700 series has. I completely reviewed the user manual for the 700 series and found it to be particularly unhelpful. I expect to get a lot of initial help from my son when I first start using it. I am trusting the operation and menus are predictably accessed and can be mostly used without sight. Check with me in a couple weeks or more to see what I have learned first hand. Jeff At 03:02 PM 4/30/05, you wrote: I've heard on this list that the Iriver IFP-790 is easy for VIPs to use. chatting full douplex mode and recording
Hi, I am using window eyes 5 on a windows xp professional service pack 2 and am looking for an accessible very good quality with almost no noise in the background or in the encoded chat pear to pear or a system for chating in full douplex mode where a user does not need to hold or press anything when talking, like a normal phone call on the telephone, no button needs to be pressed in order to talk and everyone can hear everyone else if their mike is turned on. I want a program that can record the entire session because I want to be able on my internet radio station to do recordings with people across the country but don't want to always use the phone. I want the program to be able to save the recorded file as .wav file so I can add effects in sound forge8.0. All of us will have dsl access so broadband access so the best quality voice is what I am looking for. Does any one know of this type of program or any programmers willing to help me write one for me because I really do need it? Sound forge 8.0 is very accessible and I upgraded because I needed asio support for my emu1820 sound card. bye My web page is at http://www.nickgawronski.com ___ PC-Audio List Help, Guidelines, Archives and more... http://www.pc-audio.org To unsubscribe from this list, send a blank email to: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
